I have looked all over the internet for an adult Barbie costume but all they have is little girls. Anyone have any ideas of how I could do this? I want it to be sexy, not a dress down to my feet but how could I give it away that I am supposed to be Barbie? Thanks for the help!

The best way for people to know it is Barbie you are doing is to wear a bathing suit like the original Barbie #1 from 1959. It had black and white stripes which were set in a sort of chevron pattern due to the seam down the center front. I'm sure you could see a picture of her on eBay at most any time: they sell for amazing prices, by the way. Tie your hair up in a pony tail that sits high on the back of your head and wear high heels with a little black strap and open toes. Wear gold hoop earrings, not too large but fatter than most hoop earrings. (It's the scale issue in the case of such a small doll.) Wear your make-up fairly thick, including rouge on your cheeks and very red lips. Black, black mascara and eye liner.
Of course, there are other classic Barbies which are also pretty recognizable, like the gold and white striped bathing suit with a matching head scarf from 1963. She had a "bubble" haircut. The stripes go diagonally from her lower right to her upper left on the bottom portion of her bathing suit, and criss-cross over her midriff to create the bust-line. That one is probably also shown on eBay at most any time. Also quite expensive.

Wear a hot pink minidress of some sort, go to the goodwill and see if you can find a vinyl one or something. Then, get a white blonde wig that's really long. Wear some dramatic make up, clear platform shoes or something, and maybe some costume jewelry.

I have a Theresa doll in my cupboard from when i was a child, and she is wearing a blue mid-riff top with a blue mini skirt and high heels. Oh, and bright makeup
