I would love to see him back at Renault. I think the money he brings through sponsorship will lift Renault back up the grid.
This can only be good for F1 to have 3 or 4 teams at the top.
I can't see him joining a team like Toyota, Red Bull etc. He will want to be in a team with the potential to improve. Renault have proven they can win when all the pieces are in place. Alonso could be the missing piece for them.
Having said that What about the new Mclaren "B" team, what is it prodrive?
That could in effect solve Rons contract issue with Alonso and ensure lots of publicity ( speculation, camera time, etc) for the new team.
Just a thought.

Ron Dennis isn't on speaking terms with Alonso,so for sure he will be leaving Mclaren when his contract expires. But he could leave this season to most probably Renault as that will be the team that will give him the No.1 status and accept him back with open arms, but the ball is really in Ron Dennis's court as he has the contract for a few more years with Alonso. So only if Flavio Briatore pays up the transfer fee only then he can have Alonso. Alonso will never be going to a Williams or Toyota or Honda as these teams are now no where near the top and simply can't fight for the championship, Williams has some histroy (third most sucessful team in Formula 1) but now it is a low budget privateer team ,so no chance of Alonso joining that and another reason could be Nico as he is also a good driver again the equal game would have to be played by Frank Williams which will drive Alonso nuts.

nicely, now that his departure from McLaren is sturdy, there are concepts that he's utilized for a job as a campanologist in Switzerland, a united states huge-unfold for its many bovine exponents interior the artwork of campanology. even however, i've got self belief he will in all probability sign with David Richards' Prodrive team, the only that alter into meant to contest the 2008 formulation One championship, even yet it sounds like there will be no F1 Prodrive attempt, a minimum of no longer next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. he would be assured the No. a million status, he would be happy to deliver textual content cloth messages everywhere and if he rips any doors off lockers, i'm helpful a Welsh chippie would be reachable to repair the wear. Now it appears that evidently good previous Flavio has, or is approximately to make an grant that would see him decrease back at Renault; the sticking factor must be the dimensions of the settlement - Alonso needs a one-3 hundred and sixty 5 days settlement and Flav is insisting on a minimum of a 2-3 hundred and sixty 5 days stay. via the way, is there all people else obtainable spoke of as Flavio? i've got on no account individually met yet another Flavio different than that frizzy-haired guy from Verzuolo. As for a substitute, possibly Ron Dennis ought to evaluate Gary Paffett, the team try driver or take a raffle on somebody which incorporate Adam Carroll or Mike Conway. If Mercedes and Norbert Haug insist on a youthful German driver, Michael Ammermüller could get some attention. even however, like Carroll and Conway, i do no longer think of he's completed any F1 sorting out.

Looking at the highlights of the transcripts of the Ron/Alonso tiff, they haven't even spoken to each other for over a month since the race in Hungary. If you read the highlights of the transcripts released today, there is no way you can imagine Alonso working with McLaren next year.

it is too impractical for McLaren to keep Alonso for 2008 unless of course Ron leaves McLaren. His first choice would be back to Renault and after that the only companies that can afford him are giants Toyota and Honda

He and his manager have reaffirmed their commitment to McLaren for the 2008 season, he is still under contract and unless they get so sick of him they won't release him, probably just to make him suffer, because their push for the championship will not be as big as before the scandal. I see McLaren being challenged by bmw and renault very soon, if not this season, then the next one for sure. Therefore, I don't think Alonso will be allowed to leave McLaren unless somebody stupid enough would pay to take him out of his contract, I don't think he's worth that kind of money anymore, in the light of the latest news.
Williams is, I think, out of the question for a simple reason, not enough money to spend on drivers. Toyota or Honda would be his only chance, unlimited resources, no pressure to win at all, whatever he gets is good, they would kiss his feet and build a statue back in Japan. Their home circuit would be called Alonso Motorsports.

He won't join anybody! No other team will trust the backstabbing, blackmailing, arrogant pig that he is. Would you trust him if it was your team, your money and your shareholder's money? As many teams have said, a £50 million fine would bankrupt them. Alonso did what he did to get back at Ron for not allowing him to have it all his own way. I hope Ron gets revenge and replaces him for the last few races and then sacks him.

I think he will leave with a big foot up his backside, on the grounds of cheating and breaking his contract.
If Ron Dennis leaves it long enough before kicking him out, Alonso wouldn't have a drive next year.

I doubt very much he will be at McLaren in 2008.
I am sure he will go back to Renault next year and Renault would be happy to have him back they said so themselves and now even Telefonica are offering to come back to Renault if Alonso comes back and they said they will also pay part of the money for Alonso to come back to Renault.

He'll probably end up back at renault, theres already some talk about it...I'd like to see Rosberg at Mclaren, I really like Nico's dad Keke Rosberg, like to see his son get some wins.
