Losing in a 20/20 tournament isn't embarrassing but getting whipped 5-0 in a Test series is.

No, not really. The English media always portray our national teams as being potential world-beaters and then get upset when their predictions are made to look stupid.
What WAS embarrassing, however, was our selection policy for the 20/20...good international players should be able to adapt to any form of the game and should play in all formats - pick your best players whenever they are fit and available.

Picking players who are solid county pros who had a good season in domestic 20/20 was a big risk, and it really hasn't worked. Wright has looked bad against good quick bowling, Snape and Kirtley were well out of their depth and Maddy has had a couple of decent knocks but hasn't ever looked convincing. Tremlett has gone for 11.25 an over, and Mascarenhas has been very up-and-down.

It tells you all you need to know that a half-fit Flintoff who grimaces after every delivery has still been far and away England's best bowler.

Just over hyped in my opinion.

We finally bet the Aussies after 18 years in a test series and suddenly we are going to dominate the world.

We have too few players coming through from schools due to many schools either not playing cricket or having no quality of coaching and kids not being interested to go down their local club after school and then having to give away their weekends for what to most is a unfashionable game.

They only lost by 18 runs...hardly an "embarrassing " margin in a 20/20 match.

Not really..They did great chasing 218..They got to 200. In my opinion not picking their best #3 Ian Bell cost them this cup! Be it Gibbs or Ponting or Younis Khan or Ashraful, they all had important roles to play in this competetion. It is awful cos they lost the cup in the board room!

Yesterday was the day which England Team will not forget in the years to come as they had no answer to the onslaught of Yuvaraj Singh, who virtually took the match out of England in one over...
