Sedimentary rocks are deposited. They can be formed in different ways. Sandstone is formed by the deposits of sand building up over time. Limestone is formed by the chemical deposits formed in deep water areas. This is opposed to igneous rock which is created by cooling magma or lava and opposed to metamorphic rock which is created from other existing rocks being placed under head an pressure.
