Do you call every box of facial tissue "Kleenex",

every can of soda "Coke,

every bottle of correction fluid "Whit-out"?

Why do we do this?

White out, saran wrap, scotch tape, bandaids, and even aspirin was a brand name.

I don't do the "coke" thing, only if it's coke. But yes you're right I do call everything Kleenex or White-out. Bloody ads have brainwashed my mind, that and EVERYONE else calls it that.

1.i do that cause 9 times out of 10 thats the brand of tissue i use
2. cause i am cajun and thats the was i was taught.. cause here when asked you want some coke we ask what kind do ya have
3. is there really anything else to call it that sounds as good

Yep. And invisible tape is Scotch Tape. Celo wrap is Saran Wrap. Copiers are Xerox machines.
