First of all, who would pick up the crap to throw it? Second how can you pick up crap that is loose enough to be sprayed by a fan. Finally if you were lucky enough to make it work, after it was all finished, wouldn't you be S H l T 0uT 0f Luck?

One time a Gorilla threw crap at my mom at the Zoo. It was great. I laughed for YEARS.

I found a website that discusses the origins, or at least the earliest uses, of familiar terms.

It seems like it began as "The stuff has hit the fan.", and being typical humans, we just had to dirty it up a little. =;o)
