Because women are catty and ultimately our own worst enemy.

Most of my friends are male.

That's because many people don't realize that women are often very competitive with each other and over time, various differences between them will come out. That's why I don't really hang around with groups of women. I think there's no real friendship there but only companionship and listening to constant catty comments will only erode self-esteem over time. I don't need or want that.

I'm not sure why this pettiness happens other than the fact some women get real jealous of other women. I find that extremely frustrating. Being a woman myself, I was so feed up with that kind stupidity that I actually said in a meeting one time "I hate working with women who always put jealousies and pettiness before professionalism." They didn't like it, but it made them stop and think about what they were doing. That behavior puts women in bad light and we should be above that medieval sort thing.

It is all part of the Human condition and how best We interact within a specific peer group. Each of Us {Male and Female}must at one time or another strive to achieve self actualization: even at the expense of those whom We hold to be dear to Us. It is just that simple. Gossip, something Males tend to learn how to do from being with Our Mothers, is a potent weapon in the fight to gain leverage over others. The 'truth' does not matter so long as we are only retelling the 'hearsay' told to Us.

i myself tend to keep little friends because of this. Its mainly boredom and some jealousy involved and groups are sneaky and not reliable.Pick out your closest 2, and be wary of the rest as they will talk.I dropped my friends for my last relationship and since split up with my ex now im lonely at times but the bitching going on in groups i never miss.

Not all women are like this, but the ones I have known who are seem like they always need to be discussing or analyzing something. Women who feel like they always need to be discussing or analyzing will eventually start to discuss and analyze their friends. Just my take.
