Yeah I think too much - I think.
I know that I know too much
and yet I don't really know anything but
I want to be wanted
I need to be needed
and I'd love to love some more,
but I took too big a bite
from the apple of knowledge
and all it did
was make me sick

Yes, I definitely think too much, too often. Perhaps it is a side effect of our society and living in the Information Age. Our senses are constantly bombarded by images of all kinds and I think this has an effect on our thinking processes. Just having to process all of the stuff coming our way at such an alarming rate is overwhelming in itself. No wonder so many of us have a hard time turning our thoughts off, even when we eventually find ourselves in a peaceful place.

ahaha haa hee. Oh yes yes yes of course. I think you must know me some how....Hee hee I`ve been a problem thinker for many years now. It was taking over my life and life became unmanagable. At first I thought I could handle it but then I started askin my friends to give me things to think about. After I had no friends left I asked my family. It got so bad they would hide all the reading material from me and I wasn`t allowed to watch t.v. They took away my computer in case I found things to think about on line. Anyway the last straw was when I started stealing stuff from the library to feed my habit. The real rock bottom came when I started breaking into bookshops and even stealing phone books and stuff. I finally got help though, after selling all the furniture so i could obtain stuff to think about. thankfully though with thinkers anon. I`m getting better one thought at a time......

There was a stage of my life at one time, that I was wishing that somehow I could turn off my head. I was thinking awake and asleep. It was very hard to differentiate between the two states because my brain was going into overtime. Somewhere it kind of faded out to where I could control what I was thinking. Cannot explain it any better than that.

It's unavoidable to go through the abyss of our minds and ponder deeply over something that's difficult to resolve. Mostly, these over-thinking times are not self-focused, but rather relative to people who are dear to us. We think about them twice or thrice as much as we do for ourselves.
Think about falling in love; the thought of our subject almost always consumes all the minutes of our day... from the moment we wake up till the time we close our eyes to sleep.
Think about a family member who'd go under an operation; how deep is the prayer and wishful thought that seems endless for his or her safe recovery.
Yes, I do think too much at times as the situation requires. But with every deep thinking I do, I never forget to turn to God for counsel and help,..knowing I could find Him to surface me from the depths of my worries. .

No, but I used to.
The desire to think can be quite dangerous if we don't understand the nature of our thinking. Introspection is associated with a variety of states including depression, guilt and anger.
Not only can we control how much we think, but what we think about.
