for him to say that black quarterbacks are more scrutinized than white quarterbacks is absurd. He has been in the league for awhile now and has established himself as a proven starter, but to go out and start saying because he is black is why people scrutinize his work, c'mon give me a break. If a white quarterback said the exact same thing all hell would break loose, because white quarterbacks get scrutinized as well, but for them to say I'm getting overly criticized because I'm white/black is one of the most inane things I have ever read and he should quit crying!!!

five kids down yes he did say that, I am reading his quote on yahoo sports where he says when asked if he thought that Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer are held to the same standards he says quote " Let me start by saying I love those guys. But they don't get criticized as much as we do" end quote. Now does that not say that if he was white he would not be criticized or does it say that he is just misunderstood? I don't hate McNabb, but I tell you what I have a different look on him now than I ever have before.

Maybe he just got suckered into saying it by TV's #1 racist Bryant Gumbel? If not then he has truely become delusional. As mentioned by others he plays in a very black city in a sport dominated by blacks with more starting black QB's and coaches then at any time in history. Every QB is under major stress to lead their team and critized. Just last week after throwing for 3 TD's and 300 yards a commentator suggested it might be time to bench Jake Delhomme. Living in Maryland I know how the media beat the crap out of Mark Bruenel and just about every QB the Redskins have had. Anyone remember a guy named Jake Plummer, he was always under fire even with his team going to the playoffs in Denver. In the NFL people expect perfection from their QB's.

Dude, McNabb is a b_itch, but he's no racist. Listen, I have done this poll with many of my associates and they all agree. Name the top three quarterbacks in the league. Every one of them, 100 people to be exact, and they all picked these players ---

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Carson Palmer

Now tell me why Carson is number 3, despite the fact that his team has never been to the AFC championship under his watch, and McNabb has been to four NFC championship games and a Super Bowl, yet he doesn't even crack the top three. Carson was injured and he still remains at number 3. Why is that?!!! Where Steve McNair?!! Mike Vick?!! Culpepper?!!! Lechwich?! All of these aforementioned quarterbacks have victories over the top three quarterbacks, yet they aren't even in the conversation of great quarterbacks. Why is that?!! Hell, McNair had the best season ever for a black quarterback and he still had to share it with Manning. What?! When Vick had that great run when he broke the rushing record for a quarterback, he didn't even get mention for MVP. What?! C'mon, the facts clearly show that even if Manning had a great statistically year and they don't make the playoffs, he will still get mentioned for M.V.P. But McNabb could go to the Super Bowl and he will still be considered an average quarterback. Hell, check this out!! I asked as a bonus the next two quarterbacks in the league and they all said ---

4. Ben Roshlesbuger
5. Matt Hassleback

What?!! Neither of these guys is black, right?!! Yet McNabb and McNair are even in the mix. For the record, I'm not saying that race has anything to do with performance, but if you look at it from McNabb's point of view, you see why a black quarterback has to do more than a white quarterback. And don't give me that argument about Rex Grossman getting criticized. If Rex was black, he won't be in the league now. Don't believe me --- ask Aaron Brooks!! This argument certainly has legs. Thanks for the vine. Holla ata playa playa!!! Game!!!

Vikings because of the connection with Chilly. But he probably won't end up there. Why would Philly trade him to a prime contender in the NFC for the Super Bowl. How would Philly fans react if Mcnabb led the Vikes over the Eagles in the NFC championship game? Reid would get his *** chased all over the city (although he could use the exercise)

I think hes just a crybaby.
And yes, he has proven himself as a good starter, but hasnt proven that he can win the big one.
And if you look at the stats, black QB's dont win super bowls. Theres been one black QB that has every won a super bowl. And all the great QB's in the league are white. And did you see him on monday night football? He wasnt very good.

He needs to worry about winning instead of caring what people say about him because the way they have played, they deserve it. How about he goes out and win a game to shut them up.

Yes I agree that the philly fans are very brutal..but that don't mean you should place is on your race...as an African American I am kinda ashamed that he actually said that. It don't matter if your black or white you do good, you do good. you do bad, you do bad... race ain't a part of anything. He came off of 2 bad injuries that made him sit the rest of the season and now he bragged that he will be 100 percent for this season. He been sitting for too long and been really rusty even though he been through 6 games and not all of them were full games

I was just going to ask this question, but I see you've already asked it. Why is he always stirring the pot? You can't just play the race card here. If anything, black quarterbacks have special treatment (ex: Michael Vick getting to go to his pro bowls when there were clearly better white QBs in the NFC at the time). You just can't throw the race card out all the time. I think he just likes the attention it gets him.

Philly fans are harsh, perfectionists, stupid, and brutal.

Hopefully he'll leave Philly and take Cleveland to the SuperBowl!

McNabb has no offense to work with except for

Kevin Curtis
and
Brian Westbrook

I saw what he said and I don't believe that he is blaming his offensive problems on racism but the scrutiny that black quarterbacks go through is well documented plus with this whole Mike Vick situation it doesn't make the scrutinizers any quieter.

I think that he's out of line for blaming race. The media pans poor play of any quarterback regardless of race. Rex Grossman and Joey Harrington come to mind. But with McNabb, I think they allow him to play race victim. He should be man enough to not acquiesce.
