i havent lived in SD long (i live in the UTC area and work in Del Mar, just south of the track) and tend to not go further south than downtown for a Padres game or to go to the Gaslamp district, so i really dont know much about the area. but from what ive heard, Chula Vista is not exactly the nicest place. USC is located in and plays in the heart of South Central LA. ive never had a problem there. do you think the move, if it happens, will effect the Chargers in a positive or negative way?

I think it would be great if they changed their name to the "Chulos".

What does USC have to do AT ALL with the Chargers?

San Diego has already lost teams to the LA grind, and, let's face it, LA does NOT appreciate what they have. Right, Rams and Raiders fans? Los Angeles is out. Let Jacksonville's new owner put the Jags there, if they can find a stadium spot in the sprawl.

The Chargers should stay in the downtown SD area, and NOT move where the freeway system and suburbanite communities cannot support them (IE eastern Chula Vista). The new CA-125 toll road is designed for commercial trucks to bypass the populated areas, NOT for another expense for blue-collar fans trying to get to the Bolts game. I'm already worried what happens if San Diego tries to host an Olympic games or World Cup in the suburban soapbox area of Chula Vista. I lived there in 2002-03.

I am partial to the bayfront site where the warehouse is. Chula Vista would be like playing "Los Angeles" ball in San Bernardino, and putting a stadium in Barrio Logan would be like putting one in Watts or Compton....or Rosarito if you want better San Diego accuracy!

Just because the questioner has not been "farther south than downtown" doesn't mean the Chargers shouldn't be in San Diego. Orange County and LA have sports teams already. Let San Diego County have a pro sports team already.

I'm not sure, but I'm reminded of the time when the Chicago Bears were considering a move to Gary. I chuckle everytime I think of the possibility of The Gary Bears.

i dont think that where the stadium is located has an effect on teams...there are many teams located in not so great areas, but as long as the fans remain fans, thats really the imortant thing. Loyal, faithful fans will remain faithful fans because of the team, not because of their location. The team needs to see the faithfulness.
