why does CNN take side in every story? Example: O.J. Simpson.

24 hr news stations can't be considered in this. They are entertainment shows and they tend to play up whatever "side" the majority of their viewership takes.

G, I remember right after the whole OJ Media circus with his lawyer giving the press conference with the heckler by his side, CNN went to "regular programming" with a lead in similar to, "in and other news, a bombing in Beirut." It's like my god... we spent 2 hours talking about OJ and people have been blown up? Thanks for keeping us up to date.

You are going to have to be a little more specific on what you find objectionable about CNN's coverage. Court proceedings are pretty cut and dried, and it's not like there is a political agenda in a case like this. O.J. Simpson is a very big name, and his arrest interests a lot of people. There's always a bit of a journalistic dance on legal matters, since someone is innocent until proven guilty yet the facts of the case -- however damning in some cases -- have to come out.

in the united states journalism is proud of its slants. the rest of the world is kind of amazed when they get to opportunity to watch american news. i mean why talk about international events when you have paris hilton and britney and now oj again. everything is a tabloid. do you know what happened in the rest of the world this week other than oj? most americans don't. if you are lucky you might find someone that knows about the guy being tasered in florida or the fed dropped the interest rate against the advice of every economist in the universe -- including bernake's advice -- the guy that is supposed to be leading the fed. did you know the pope declined a private meeting with condi rice? i don't think that made it to cnn.

i like to think of my dad who doesn't understand the difference between the news section and the editorial section. a letter to the editor is someones opinion.
i think my dad is a shining example of what went wrong with american press.

without people realizing it the media has warped your mind. i get my news from non-english sources. if you aren't so lucky try bbc.co.uk. then you can get more unbiased news.

The same reason Fox News does for the GOP.

Good journalists try and keep their own personal biases out of news stories, unless they are doing an op ed piece.
