in simple terms, there are a lot of ways to get started, but I would recommend this.

first, limit your work to outside windows only if you are planning on doing business. Once you are inside the door, you can subject yourself to lawsuites and other things.

next, the soap you use and the squeegie are your life, buy the best, but that does not mean spending a lot of money. it means getting the best.

if you are going to do business's, there is one routine to get work, if you are doing homes another. so lets explore both.

business, print cards, go in to the office and hand them a card and flier and say I can clean windows for x amount.

homes, leave fliers on the door, (use scotch tape)

NEVER go inside a home......NEVER you will learn why later but for now, just trust me

what you have to do, if you want to be successful, is be able to reach the window height without climbing, (you can break an ankle plus have to carry that ladder), and you have to do a good job

window guys usually carry a few hand towels to wipe off the squeegy as they use it.

you need to learn how to clean off scale on windows also and make sure you can remove the scale remover so it does not damage stone, paint or metal finishes.

hope this helps

Wear dark sunglasses while you are washing the windows. People don't want to get the idea that you are looking at them. Always wipe from left to right, not right to left, since we are in the northern hemisphere. If you live in the southern hemisphere, reverse this. Don't ever buy Windex. This product is an even bigger rip off than Gatoraid or organic food. Either use water, or prepare your own Gatoraid at home. It's much cheaper, and you know you'll be thirsty up there! Good luck!
