why are they finding evidence of past civilizations under the melting ice?

I can't find a link now but I do remember reading something about this. Any one else?

There's no such thing as a static climate. It has been warmer and it has been colder in the past. And some day in the future it will be warmer than today, as it will be colder.

If we didn't have global warming, New York City would be under 1 mile thick sheet of ice.

If you understand how waves work (basic elementary school science) you can understand this too. Grab the end of a jump-rope. Lift one end really quickly. Watch the wave. Did the wave reach the end of the rope when you hand was at it's peak, or sometime after you put your hand back down?
The Environment is on a similar wave. Our carbon emissions will cause a wave.
