This is actually a matter of opinion. There are 3 common views.
1) Conception - the soul exists when the seman enters the female, this view is held mostly by the extremely religious who believe that God knew that you were going to exist even before your parents had sex. (very conservative)
2) Pregnancy - the soul exists once the embryo can be recognized as a human body. This view is held mostly by the moderately religious people who are okay with first trimester abortion. (moderate)
3) Birth - the soul exists when the baby is born. Abortion is okay in all terms of pregnancy. (Extremely liberal)

we live on this earth because we are a creation of the almight God, he created us because he loved us and wants us to freelyl love him back, if we love freely and accept his gift eternal life we can be in a paradise for ever and forever. we are a unique people, none like us in all the universe, our planet is unique. we are the apple of the creators eye. we are to love and respect each other, not hate. hate seems to bring on voilence, that we don't need. More love is what we need!!

(I answered a similar question like this, so I'll give you the same answer.)
To be an ambassador of Jesus Christ! To live in the way He wants me to, and do what He wants me to, not because I HAVE to, but because I CHOOSE to, out of obedience and love.
Each and every one of us was put on earth with a specific purpose that no one but us can fulfill! God has a special plan for all of our lives; we just have to accept His love and live according to His ways (this is really the only way to live; otherwise, you're just existing, and there's no meaning to your life. But God has our best interests at heart).

Note to crazychica0045: Actually, there's no way anyone can earn their way to heaven. Heaven is eternity with God, but God is Holy, meaning absolutely perfect, and we're SO messed up with sin! Every one of us has told a "little white lie", hated someone, or wanted something they couldn't have. Even if you'd only done ONE of those things, you couldn't go to heaven, because God's nature is so pure He can't be around impure things. (It's the way He is!) It's only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross that we can go to heaven one day! Sin needs to be paid for; Romans 6:23a says, "For the wages of sin is death." Jesus died so we wouldn't have to! Not only that, but He rose again after three days! He paid the price and washed us clean, so we can be blameless in the sight of God! All we have to do is believe that with all of our hearts, and we will see our Risen Lord one day in paradise! I have accepted this free gift of love, and I can't wait til the day comes when I meet my Jesus face to face! THAT'S what I'M living for!!
