Once the people who planned and executed the attack have faded away, or no longer show any interest in attacking again, would be a good time to "forget" about 9/11. Blacks should "forget" about slavery and Jim crow when those who would discriminate against them have faded away.

I'm using "forget" to mean "stop worrying about it" in the above paragraph. We should always remember in the sense that those things are a part of our history.

I have forgave the mean people who did this. Not to there face i just don't think that this baggage is worth holding with me forever so i forgave them for their stupidity. With what was learned and with me having a lighter mental mind. I can fully be prepared for something like this again!

We can never forget about 9/11 because the media and government will never let us. However, we are frequently being encouraged to forget about many attrocities that western societies have committed. That is, if we're even made aware of them.

It's all about the society we live in. It envelops us and determines the course of our lives and our beliefs, i.e what is important to us, what we remember and what we forget. As for Jim Crow, I've never heard of him and I probably don't want to hear about it anyway.

We will never forget. If you dont know your history then your future is doomed. Your doomed to repeat it. Now should blacks stop using slavery and jim crow as a stone... one day but forget 9/11 or slavery NEVER.

I can take it you are not black or have any relatives to die in 9-11

We should never forget about 9/11, but we need to learn from it, and act accordingly.
Slavery was an unfortunate part of our history, but it was an unfortunate part of the history of almost every nation at one time or another.
Some groups use their past oppression as an excuse to complain, but others use the anger as a tool to get things done for themselves and their people.

no person will ever forget approximately and we ought to continually no longer. Racism remains sparkling and alive in as we communicate's lifetime, a black president is barely slightly step, i guess whilst something is going incorrect it's going to be "because of the fact Obama grow to be black". do no longer attempt and faux racism isn't around because of the fact there's a black president, would not advise that a lot, it merely means racism is interior the minority in u.s.. by remembering those unlucky happenings like slavery and 9/11, we can nonetheless honour the human beings who cruelly affected in those events.

We should never forget about 9-11 but maybe the memorial services and stuff should stop soon. It seems like maybe those services could be painful for the families who lost loved ones. It might make it harder for them to move on if every year, once a year, they have to go back and live in the past again, have to relive it all again. We need to hold it in our hearts and remember it though. Remember how disgusting it was.

We should never forget September 11, 2001. We should never forget the attack on Pearl Harbor. We should never forget slavery. We should never forget the holocaust. We should never forget that there are evil people in the world and we should always be prepared to fight them.

I think the better question is how should we remember 9/11?

I personally don't think we should remember it by flying off the handle and invading countries that had nothing to do with it.

i also don't think we should be "Chicken Littles" and live our lives in fear of the next terrorist attack.

We're the biggest, richest, most-powerful country on Earth and we throw our weight around and consume the lion's share of the Earth's resources. Naturally, that's going to piss off a lot of people. They got a lucky shot in. We deal with it, accept it and move on.

And instead of allowing terrorists to get us to chase our tails in fruitless attempts to kill every last one of them, we should accept that every once in a while they'll attack us, but put our efforts into preventing them from obtaining nuclear weapons and decentralizing our centers of power enough so that any single attack does not debilitate us.
