I have a reanult scenic 2006 model and the only you can get to the spare tyre is to lift up a cover which has plastic in the middle and carpet frabic each side ,I have had my car for just on 12 months and my son has split coke on this cover but the coke did not penertrate through to the spare tyre .

I have used my car for everything from shopping to carrying sand and cement to dumping garden waste at the tip.

The only way hair, garden waste, leaves, etc can get into the spare tyre well is by removing the cover.
so can anybody explain to me how hair etc can get under this cover?

ok if the tyre was change the hire company would be able to provide information on who had the car and when the tyre was change ,I presume that the hire company have a contract with a tyre dealer and breakdown service
but i have not read anything about this happening and i am sure the police would have checked this out with all the people who hired the car.

My friend has the same model and thats exactly what I was thinking. I can't answer this because I don't know how. I would personally say it can't be done unless the tire was not under the plastic-which I doubt. Try telling this to everyone else on here claiming the Mccann's are guilty. I don't know whether they are innocent or guilty but the evidence seems to me to be fabricated in some places. Innocent until proven guilty I say.

According to the express the theory is that the sweat from Maddies sandals (would sweat still be there after 25 days?)and hair from her dirty pyjamas both of which were chucked (lovingly)into the back of the car not packed into a case or anything, when the parents moved appartment explain how the Maddies dna (which according to the sun isn't maddies dna) got there. The seats were moved so they could pack up all the stuff in the back as they were in a hurry to move. No mention of where the twins sat though The parents (or rather the papers) now alledgedly say the dna is from the twins as obviously there were dirty nappies in the back of the car (obviously one can't leave home without them no matter how much of a hurry you're in) This apparently explains why feaces and urine traces were found in the dna which is now the twins dna not maddies. Not only that but the dogs went mad around the boot of the car when they smelt death because the clothes that Kate wore when she was dealing with the dead bodies from her work (also still unwashed after god knows how long) were also put in the boot. Cuddle cat alledgadly had the scent of death on it but that was due to Kate taking it to work with her of course (the sun paper). Don't know about you but when there is a death in the family I would think it perfectly natural if my gp turned up with a cuddly toy. So there you have it..All perfectly explainable. In short the mccanns are total mingers who don't wash their clothes for weeks but are, perhaps alittle obsessed with cuddly toys as little cuddle cat was washed after Maddie dissappeared. Kate does however sniff Maddies clothes as the smell reminds her of her daughter but cuddle cat obviously didn't smell of Maddie so it was ok to wash that. What I'm saying is don't believe anything you read in the papers cos they contradict themselves and if they carry on it will be the media who are trying to help the mccanns who will end up hanging them in the end because of their contradictive and ridiculous theories.Maybe dna was found under the tyre and maybe it's all just c--p invented by the papers or someone else. who knows.

Very Interesting....PJ did report a lot of hair in the spare tyre
well. But is this true ?Speculation, but McCanns could say it was from the Kiddies favourite comb or hairbrush, that was lost, & then found, when they had a puncture, & needed to
change a tyre, from the well....Only a suggestion... Intriguing...
case gets better....?

My understanding is that they are saying that they have DNA..if they had dna?..These people would be behind bars..The question I would have is, how did they supposedly find dna several weeks after the fact?..Come on, in the United States, if they believe they have a car and dna is there?..they have it signed sealed and delivered and by now?..dna would be used to arrest them...Remember, you are talking about suspect rogue policeman in a foreign country....

so can anybody explain to me how hair etc can get under this cover?

There is a possiblity it was planted in a last desperate bid by the keystones, or it just got there with all the movement of luggage and people using the car. Gerry did move the seats to fit all the luggage in, it has been reported. So.. that's how I guess, it got there.

30 people have been associated with that car since the McCanns hired it. Some of those were blood relatives of Madeleine.

First let me say I am just giving an alternative solution..I am not even speculating here but you asked the question....Here goes...is it possible the cover was removed to place a body in the car...thinking hmm no dna on cover if I remove it? And thinking nobody will think to look under the cover for dna? Then replacing the cover after? Could this be a possibilty in your car? Not that I think that is what happened but just curious to know if that could be a possibilty. You are welcome to email me the answer.I am just curious now to know if that could be a possibilty...to remove cover and place something in the trunk without the cover present.

Here's three questions in response.

How big is a Scenic spare tire well?

How big is a toddler?

In all your amazing Scenic use did you ever try putting a child's body where the spare tyre is supposed to go?
