Bush: Strengthen eavesdropping law By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer
16 minutes ago

FORT MEADE, Md. - President Bush said Wednesday that a law hastily passed in August to temporarily give the government more power to eavesdrop without warrants on foreign terror suspects must be made permanent and expanded.

for all you Bush fans: Do you feel safe yet, knowing that W is listening in? For Bush, if you're listening - go do an anatomical and biological impossibility to yourself......

This sums it up for me,

" Those willing to give up a little liberty for a little security deserve neither security nor liberty. "

No, you are not the only one feeling sympathy for Bush. I am, too. Bush has made so many different reforms in the country, and despite the sudden fallback of his war on terror, it was actually the people who wanted the war! If Bush did not declare war after the 9/11 incident, people would have ousted him from office then and would not have lasted until 2008. I agree we should consider the big picture, unfortunately, that never happens in reality. The truth is, even if you have done a hundred great things, people will scrutinize you for the one or two mistakes you have done along the way and render you incompetent.

Since when does not approving of Bush make you a supporter of a certain faith or of terrorism? Do you honestly think it is ok for the government to search and monitor someone without a warrant?

It is illegal for us to search a wanted criminal's house without a warrant and it is still against the law to do it to others.

I am not suggesting that I am afraid the government spies on me. I have nothing to hide if I did. All I am saying is that if you can't search people here without a warrant, then why should you be able to do it elsewhere? It will just lead to less strict laws about searching people here at home.

The president has also justified wire-tapping of US citizens without a warrant because there was a possible threat of terrorism. Read Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, those are the extremes of what we are dealing with.

What's with the fearmongering? Since I'm not a foreign terror suspect, nobody is going to be eavesdropping on me. I do not donate to terrorist organizations, I do not converse with those people in this country that advocate for the terrorists, I do not have long homoerotic phone calls with Osama.

The only reason I don't feel safe is because the Democrats don't seem very concerned about confronting those who would do us harm.

I don't get you people, all you rebel far left Democrats, who don't have any backbone. we get bombed, have planes flown into our buildings, and get blown to hell by all thing evil in this world, yet you want to cower and hide, pull out of Iraq, and let the country become a cesspool of EVIL. I am a republican and I AM SURE AS HECK PROUD OF IT! i believe in the ERADICATION of evil wherever it may hide, that INCLUDES IRAQ! I also don't understand why you have a problem with wire taps. As long as you are not a terrorist, and say the word bomb or infidel on the phone, you have nothing to fear. To all the teens: are you afraid the government will find out that ashley thinks brad is sooo hot? to the adults: are you afraid the government will find out you are having an affair or a doing drugs? THEY DON'T GIVE A F U C K about gossip or your marriage problems, they want to find the ***** that have infiltrated this country and are planning to shove a nuclear missile up you *** and pull the pin. also, Bush would not be LISTENING to this, he would be reading it, you silly goose, AND YES, I DO FEEL SAFER!!!!

Our security measures in airports are sadly laughable. I was in MN/St Paul airport 4 days ago & was able to pass a 12 oz botle of water & 8oz tube of cream in my purse w/o a problem. What BS...Some security!

Key Word NUB
FOREIGN

yes we I feel safer. 100+ attacks prevented by wire taps in US alone more world wide, TY Bush, .

Ahh the Clinton administration. LOL.
They identified 2 of the terrorists on 9/11 before they let them on the plane. Sure they helped airport security identify and release terrorists.

Clinton gets blamed not for not identifying terrorist but for letting them go. Like he did 2x with Bin Laden.

There is a difference between legislation and legislation that works

If Clinton did all this stuff to stop terrorism how did known terrorists hijack planes and fly them into buildings?
