"Our government has permanent residency inside a woman's vagina. The government deserves a place inside a woman's uterus according to those advocates that are anti-choice and anti-feminist. If a woman chooses not to sustain alterations to her uterus by a pregnancy, she must comply with state regulations first and then her own free will secondly.

So in the eyes of our legal systems I am a vagina first, a white citizen second and then lastly I am an eligible voter and consumer...."

What are your thoughts?

theadesmoines- I love what you said: "People who want to stop abortions need to start worrying about where men spill their seed. They're awfully worried about women's reproductive organs, but men's penises seem to be allowed to roam free."

I have always maintained that anyone who wants to make pronouncements on abortion ought to have a womb. I don't advocate abortion, but as a woman, I can see times and situations where it might be necessary.

Biology poses a dilemma here. A fetus is a human being with a separate genetic code and biological identity, but at the same it grows within a woman's body. It is, at the same time, both a being unto itself, and a part of a woman's body. This is a problem that requires flexibility on both sides, since there is no clear absolutist solution. "Pro-choice" and "pro-life" are bumper-sticker terms that inadequately represent the issue.

My thoughts are that if you don't like abortion..and no one does.. than it would be much more honest to try to get sexual health education in all schools and make sure there is access to birth control

And support contraceptive research for better birth control that works and is actually safe. THAT is a legitimate place for government and laws.

theadesmoines said it better than I could.

As for the rest of the responses I find it amazing that women are constantly asked to prove how we are oppressed by patriarchy in this forum and when we do show it clearly, it is tossed aside as meaningless.

**Having your body in politics and legislation is perhaps the biggest invasion of privacy and it is OPPRESSIVE and I am sure if the tables were turned...**

How about instead of hysterectomies for everyone I propose vasectomies?

sorry for the crappy ansWer.

Utterly ridiculous wallowing in victimhood for no apparent reason.

Apparently this weak woman has decided that because a democratic process which she had one vote in did not go her way her vote is in some way minimized. What a psycho.

Apparently she has zero right to do anything apart from bear children just because can't kill the child halfway through the process. I'm pretty ambivalent about abortion but this is such a crock it hurts.

Finally, she can get an abortion right? Yes she can. She's come to this conclusion on the basis of not being able to have things EXACTLY her way and now she's having this ENORMOUS whinge.

She needs to get a life and learn to take responsibility. Even the miniscule amount she is currently required to have appears utterly beyond her and proof of enormous victimhood. What a loser.

The government doesn't belong in a vagina. And, by god, I'll evict it, even if I have to go in there myself physically remove it.

I wouldn't go that far, but if Alito and Roberts have their way, she might be right on target. What happened to those conservatives who believe in small government?

I once had an idea: If the government is so dead-set on invading our wombs, why should they have wombs to invade? Hysterectomies for everyone!

It's what you and the people around you think that matters. I personally don't want to be put into a category by anyone.
