Music, it sets the mood, stretching and breathing deeply. Sometimes running is a good destresser, it takes concentration to watch where you're going and not get run over. One other thing I do is I do some thing for someone else, something unexpected. I may be so upset, I'll start baking, but I won't eat any of it, I bring them to my friends or neighbours. It is like morphing the stress from raw materials into banana bread, it's much sweeter that way.

Do something you like for at least an hour. Have a bath, put some lavender oil in the bedroom and read a good book. Tire yourself out and get a good nights sleep. Eat properly and exercise and sleep well and try and solve your problems one by one . Anything really as long as it suits you.

Take a walk, a nap, a relaxing bath, watch a movie, read a book, basically anything that you like to do by yourself. Also take a deep breath, that usually helps. Breathe in for like 8 seconds through your nose then hold it in for about 3, then let it out through your mouth slowly..that's what my health teacher said to do the ''proper'' deep breath.

If its in a situation where you cant really leave, like work or something, I usually call for my coverage for the ladies room (working at a switchboard I cant just walk away) and tell them I just need some air. I go out front and take some deep breaths and it helps.
Otherwise I hop on my motorcycle and go for a ride.

I pet my cats. If I can't do that, I go for a walk. If a walk isn't available, I drink a cup of tea. If none of the above work, I listen to a CD I like.
