I dont smoke myself , but why did the goverment not do what goes on in other countries, i was on holiday ther was 6 bars in a street some said smoking bar, therefore if you dont want to go in then dont, same if you dont want to work in a smoking bar , this goverment forced it on poeple without a vote surely it would be better to let us make adult decisions , either to go in or stay out, what they going to ban next sex or put a tax on that as well

But you can make an adult decison which is to smoke outside. When people who have never smoked are getting lung cancer from second hand smoke, that was a sign to ban smoking from public places. Our insurance rates are effected also but no one thinks about that do they?

I agree with you completely. A bar is the private property of its owner, so it should be up to the owner to determine whether smoking is permitted in their establishment.

Just like I might not want to hang out at a Middle Eastern restaurant that reeks of curry and incense, non-smokers would obviously want to avoid smoking bars.

But since supply and demand drives business, and apparently so many people want non-smoking bars, there would certainly be no shortage of them for the anti-smoking crowd to patronize.

And frankly, people who are THAT concerned about their health probably don't spend all that much time swilling alcohol in bars anyway, right?

Smoking harms people. Not smoking harms no one and provides an environment that is suitable for all to be in.
If you ant to smoke, go outside. What's the problem?
