It seems that people don't want to be bothered with questioning their government or standing up for their rights. There are so many answers to questions on Y/A that display and outright disinterest if not hate for anyone that questions the powers that be, and their actions. Have Americans really become a mindless fearfull heard of cattle for the rich and powerful? I always wondered while studying about Nazi Germany in school. How could the people of Germany have allowed Hitler to do what he did? Now I know.

I totally agree. And if they mindlessly elect a democrat for President, then we all will lose it!

I don't know where are from but where I am its gotten to the point where people scream conspiracy at every tiny thing. You cant do anything without hearing a lecture. People have lost their freedom, the government hasn't taken it away though. People who sit there and judge others because they don't agree with what they say have taken their own freedom from themselves.

Yes questioning the government is good. Looking at things in such a way that they could never possibly be doing anything good is bad.

mindless and fearful? I think not, I think americans as a whole are highly opinionated and fairly smart people. There was never a revolution in Germany, but there certainly has been here, and if things get too far out of whack you will see it happen here again. There is a lot more that went into the mind set of the German people than being mindless or fearful, they are not mindless, but they were of course fearful, they were at war with the world, they had plenty to be fearful of, and when you are afraid for your life, you tend to not notice that which is not going on right in front of you, say a fifteen foot radius.
Americans tend not to fear. You can accuse them accurately of poor memory, you can accuse them accurately of even being to busy to care.....but mindless and fearful? You don't know enough, and you haven't lived long enough to be able to say that with any validity. I suggest that you have never been afraid for your life, I suggest you have never even gone hungry for days on end and did not know when you might eat again. Many of us who are older, do know those feelings, and many of us are heartily tired of hearing younger generations cry out about how the people are mindless and fearful, or worthless......people are out there dieing right now for your right to continue to whine, people work in this nation continuously to maintain a communication of ideas to keep our freedoms and maintain our comfortable way of life. If you have not seen this, you have not looked, you have watched way too much TV, and believed the manure they spread about liberally. Get out of your comfort zone, go to our nation's capital, see what our legislators do, see what happens in offices, look at the pile of work on anyone's desk and then come and tell me that people do not work to safeguard our way of life. Go to Iraq, see what our troops are doing in an effort to improve the lives of the people there, and at the same time safeguard our shores from attack, see it for yourself, do not believe the crap the media shovels on a daily basis, or do not comment, you do not know enough.

yeah i agree with you. but as an american, i wouldnt say we deserve to lose our freedom. It is happening slowly though.

I dont see why people get so mad at people that dont agree with what happened on 9-11. You have to be a complete moron to believe the government's story on that one!

No. People are human and many get scard, many think being protected even by giving up rights is good, I think there are many Americans who would fight for their rights still. Oh well.
Jim here.
