That depends on her parents and your conduct. If you really like this girl you will respect both her and her parents and conduct yourself like a gentleman at all times. Keep your hands to yourself, and your pants on at all times. If and when you two decide to do something more....like after she turns 18 to be on the safe side of the law make sure you are responsible about STD's and pregnancy. You don't have to have sex to be in a serious, loving relationship....

You can have a non-sexual relationship, I would recommend that it stay that way until you are married. When she turns 18 you will be 21 so the age gap is not so bad. Keep your self respect as well as hers, there is plenty of time for sex after marriage.

The statute says "sexual intercourse," so, yes, you can have a "romantic" relationship without committing a crime.

By the way, as long as you are less than three years older than she, sexual intercourse would be a misdemeanor, not a felony.

consent is about sexual intercourse. If there is none then you are just friends.

But of course, you dont live in a bubble and what others view the relationship is what counts "legallly".

make sure you dont have dodgey DA and assistant DAs looking for promotion LOL

There are no laws in any state that stipulate ages at which one can DATE another, even "romantically." The issue concerns having sex -- and that can include ALL variations on the theme (eg., oral, etc.)

It is not illegal to date. However, in many states, even fondling with your clothes on is a crime.
