Assuming a birth without complications and not considering the mother, which type of birth do you think is better for the baby? Why? (Considering the baby's physical, emotional health and impact on mother baby bonding)

Which do you think is worst for the baby? Why? Have your experiences changed your views?

This is a non-specific question. Obviously for some individual babies certain things are better. I'm talking about what you think is best for most of the babies, most of the time.

Thanks in advance! :)

Any birth where you will be as relaxed as possible is the best for baby.

I wanted home birth, but my state wont allow home births. So i opted for a midwife at bennington hospital. I did water birth for the first few hours of pushing, but my son was too far over my pelvis and I had to switch to a stool to encourage him to clear my pubic bone.

I believe a natural birth where its treated like a natural event and not a medical procedure is the safest thing for everyone. So long as medical attentiom can be given in the case of an emergency thats all that matters.

Iam not against pain killers. Just women hopped up on drugs and deliriously laying on their backs fighting gravity trying to hork a child out of the smallest hole on the planet.

TOUGH QUESTION!

If the mother goes into labor on her own and has NO COMPLICATIONS or interventions and no medications, that would be the ideal birth for the baby. But there are many women who cannot give birth for one reason or other without pain relief or some sort of intervention. As for where the baby is born, I totally admire moms who have home births and water births. They are awesome. However they are not for me.

I can say from personal experience (2 inductions) that inductions are much worse on mother and baby! C-sections should be performed in rare cases- for medical reasons only.

As for mother baby bonding. It doesn't matter what kind of birth they have and it doesn't matter how much time passes before they are together. I think the whole idea of needing to bond immediately is for the moms not for the babies. I think for most of us bonding has occured before birth anyway.

In my opinion, for my baby, I would say home water birth. I would be less likely to recieve unnecessary interventions and in a more comfortable atmosphere, which will make lobar easier on me and the baby. I have had 2 horribly invasive ans stressful hospital births, and I will never do that again as long as I remain low risk.

The worst is probably C-section or Induction, they carry the most risks of fetal distress and injury.

I would say, Waterbirth is the best because it relaxes the mother and the child. The Child rarely cries during a water birth.
i think induced birth is the most dangerous type because the baby might not be ready yet and the drugs they give the mother might harm them. Also C-sections are pretty risky also.

When in doubt, do what is natural. Natural child birth will always be the best way.
