I'm in a very romantic mood. Hence.... My story , if I do a good job will not only convey my mood to you but also maybe pass that feeling onto you.
Intimacy is so much more that sex. This story is about an intimate moment in the lives of Matt and his Sunshine.
"LOve Of Mine"
Sunshine MacGillicutty looked out the window every two minutes . Matt was long overdue. He was escorting a prisoner to Topeka and he should have been home two days earlier. She told herself not to worry but she wasn't listening. The @ wind howling added to her unsettled nerves. She sat by@ a crackling fire with @ a hot cup of tea. Without Matt, she felt no warmth; No peace.
A knock at the door startled her .
Festus:" May I come in, Miss Sunshine?"
Sunshine:"What's wrong? Where's Matt?"
Festus:" I was hoping you would tell ME. I'm gettin' plum worried. I'm a' fixin' to ride out and see for myself, come sun-up."
Sunshine:"I'm coming to!"
Festus:"No. No. Don't ya see? You need to be here when he gets home. He'd skin me alive letting you go out in this here weather. It's @colder than a polar bear's bottom, I swear. Best you stay here. You're just getting over that sickness you had....Nope....You stay here and wait for Matthew. He'll be home directly. Why....Ol' Matthew will probably show up tonight. When he does, you be sure to let me know." He patted her on the shoulder, tipped his hat and left.
Sunshine sat there for hours. Finally she got out her guitar, and did what she always did, to express her feelings.
She wrote a song.
As she sang, her lips trembled and a tear rolled down her cheek:

When she finished the last note she laid down the guitar and stared into the fire. She contemplated the idea of Matt being gone....Truely gone. The thought was too painful to grasp. She ran out of the house and screamed his name. Through the moans of the wind she heard something! Matt came riding up.
She ran over to him . Without a word being spoken they walked into the house. He explained why it had taken him so long. She couldn't stop touching him as he spoke.
Matt:"Darlin'....You're so cold."
He held her in his arms and felt her body relaxing. Matt picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. Like a child her hands clung to his neck. Like a child she whimpered . He got into bed next to her and held her in the
@warm,soft blankets of his arms.
They fell asleep nose to nose, toes to toes, heart to heart.

Then the mom screamed reminding the student they don't have a fireplace. Wind howling and fire trucks when the only sounds the ignorant student and confused mother hear while thier home burned up. I sat in front of "a crackling fire" the first sign of any civilization in days... after the crash of my plane. I had insisted to fly alone that day so I had lots of time to think as I trudged through the damp forest. I wondered was anyone even looking for me?
I had gathered all the provisions from the plane and put them in my tote bag and headed east in hope of finding a road. The fire had been made by a woodsman that was seated there boiling some water. He seemed angelic conveniently there just when I was about to collapse.
I was so fortunate to find some warmth because my entire body was "colder than a polar bear's bottom" . I began to look through the items I took from the plane and pulled out 2 "warm soft blankets " and wrapped 1 around myself, and offered the other to him. I then remembered I had picked up an old favorite drink on my last stop before I crashed. I could really use "a hot cup of tea" right now! I showed the woodsman my find and he quickly grabbed his old tin mug and said "We will have to share this!" then put the tea bag in the boiled water and handed it to me. I held on to it finding such relief from its warmth on my hands. As I sipped.. I warmed on the inside. I soon let in to sleep! My search for home would have to wait!
I awoke to a sound that appeared to be a motorized vehicle.
Had they come to look for me? I jumped up in excitement and shouted I am over here!!! It was my family along with the woodsman.
How did they find me you ask? The woodsman noticed my name on my bag tag I had left on from ages ago, walked in to the Forestry reserve building about a mile and a half away while I slept . He notified them about finding me cold and disoriented.
My family and I thanked him for all his help. He smiled, nodded and walked away!
I will never forget that woodsman and being "colder than a polar bear's bottom", having "a hot cup of tea "by "a crackling fire" in "warm soft blankets" with the "wind howling" chilling me to the bone!

Always take a good look at what you're about to eat. It's not so important to know what it is, but it's sure crucial to know what it was. Lawyers are disbarred and clergymen are defrocked, shouldn't it follow that cowboys would be deranged? If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there with ya. When you give a personal lesson in meanness to a critter or to a person, don't be surprised if they learn their lesson. Don't worry about bitin' off more'n you can chew; your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n you think.
