What if the Peak Oil theory is true? There is much evidence out there that points to this. Wouldn't you think that Texas oil millionaire politicians and oil companies would be the first to know and work together to suppress the facts.
If we are facing a worldwide oil crisis doesn't this explain a lot of things going on right now.

And no Peak Oil is not a conspiracy theory. It comes from actual geological and scientific studies.

I notice all the naysayers supply no facts or sources to support your claims.

Please note that invading Iraq and obtaining oil contracts are not the same thing. We're trying though. Holding guns to their heads to get it. We;re also not leaving Iraq until we get it.

100% Yes...but if you look at policy in the mideast and energy policy it is easy to see that Peak oil is no longer a theory but a looming reality, that fact that our government refuses to publicly acknowlege it shows how corrupt our current system is ( beholden to big oil , big business) if our government was looking after the good of the people they would be talking about and makeing concrete plans to deal with is protracted crisis.

In the 1960s and 70s there was much evidence which pointed to the Domino Theory being true, but in the end, it was just a theory.

Be careful about over-emphasizing oil as a motivator. Oil isn't the motivator, the addiction for it is, and where there is addiction there is manipulation and lies by those who serve the addicts.

There is yet to be any evidence supporting the claim of the Oil Industry that we're running out of oil. But if they can make you believe that's the case, they can get you to fight for it, kill for it and die for it.

They are some distinctions to be made before making any assumptions. Many peoples don't understand that they are many different kinds of oil, and not all are suitable for use in engines. Actually, we will not lack normal oil, that can be used and treated to make plastic and bitumen, but we will mainly lack the oil for car engine, and the peak you refer too, is about this kind of oil (light), that cost much less to treat than other kinds. Therefore, the raise in price is not really due to the overall scarcity of the oil, but rather due to the increase treatments needed to refined it and make combustion oil with it... So yes, oil prices will raise, and who will get access to the most light oil supplies will be capable to gain a strategic advantages over its competitors, and in our case, the competitors are in Asia...

Everyone already knows the oil won't last forever, don't they?
My guess would be, that countries such as Saudi Arabia themselves, would lie about their reserves in order to keep expectations of their economies high.

When the Saudi oil is gone, Saudi Arabia will go back to being a poor country just like they were only a short 50 years ago!

My only problem is that why did oil prices double in the US after we invaded Iraq? It would seem that peak oil is manufactured artificial scarcity in order to drive up oil prices.

How can you hide the facts on a nonrenewable and finite commodity? To think that crude oil can be around forever is illogical and unrealistic, whether this happens in 40 or 400 years is the only dispute right now.

They have not only suppressed the truth about peak oil. They have suppressed alternative energy sources that could have replaced oil. Why?

What's there to suppress??? Gone are the days when you could find oil by poking a hole in the ground in Oklahoma.
Just abut all new drilling is offshore. There's nothing secret about that
