I have VERY bad cramping, abdominal pains with my periods, almost can't go to work sometimes, is that normal? it only last for 3 or so days of the total period.

this has happened to me as well. and since then i just buy the overnight pads and use those when i go to bed. they are longer so they will catch no matter which way you sleep. give them a try and see if that works. sometimes while you sleep it does get heavier because of lack of activity. but also if you have taken a pain reliever or any alcohol before bed that will also cause you to bleed heavier. i know how uncomfortable it is. but give the overnights a try and see if they work for you.
Good luck hun. =)

You seem to have a heavier flow at night.. If the cramping and other symptoms are that intense I would see a doctor about going on the pill.. .In most cases the pill would help make your period lighter or even non existent ! Being on BC doesn't mean that you have to sexually active it's just to regulate your period/symptoms.. Also, get a waterproof mattress cover for your bed and you may want to sleep with depends on they work better than a pad.. good luck..

Its happened to me many many many times. You only need to worry when you are soaking through a pad once every hour and have large blood clots. If you are having a heavy period and dont wake up to change your pad through the night then the odds of you having a mess when you wake up is very likely.

You just have a heavier flow at night. It happens to some women. That is why the make OVERNIGHT pads. I'd recommend using them or sleeping with a tampon (which is COMPLETELY safe if you don't sleep longer than 8 hours).

I have had this happen many times.
Unfortunately some people have a very heavy flow. If this continues I would talk to your doctor.
Eventually I was placed on BCP to make the flow lighter and my menses regular. It helped with cramping also.
In the mean time, get yourself some pads (or plactic lined sheets) to put on your sheets to protect your bedding.
Good luck!

sometimes our flow is crazy heavy. it all depends on the size of the egg at the time of ovulation, etc.
sometimes, you can sleep in a position for a few hours that will result in the blood pooling inside your vagina. then, when you turn over or roll over, the blood comes gushing out all at once. it happens! ive had it happen to me more than once. its not fun to be cleaning bedsheets while youre still asleep and have bled all over yourself.
try to sleep in a position where your flow will have an easier time making its way out. like, avoid sleeping on your belly or with legs crossed.
hope that helps!

It is common that your period flow increases during night, it has happened to me before I have a heavy period, but that may be due to many causes, like changing your diet when you eat more red meat you have more flow so I suggest you to eat less red meat, it will help you, also have a proper diet and exercise to have lighter periods.
Good luck! ;D

I've never had this happen because my flow is light when I sleep. I would try wearing an extra strength tampon and a pad to bed, just in case.

This use to happen to me before, everything would come out while i was alseep... now i use overnight pads, and i lay on my back the whole night while i'm sleeping... its hard for me to do because i like rolling around but just prop some pillows and tuck yourself in... it really helps in restricitng my movements which means less accidents for the night! good luck

You might want to see a Dr, about that but in the mean time get some hospital pads and lay on them, and buy some heavy duty pads. You could have fibroids in your uterus.
