ok, the plot is, anyone whos serving a life sentance goes to this island, there is no escape, if you try to they blow you up, its like an older movie i think

Could be "No Escape" ... "The Condemned" ... "Escape from New York" ... "Fortress" ... heck, even "The Running Man" had prisoners with explosives on 'em to prevent escape.
This particular plot is fairly common in future/sci-fi prison films.

It could also be "Escape from New York". Manhattan is an island, so maybe that's the movie? Or any of the ones other answerers suggested.
