After all they were on the verge of suing a Portuguese newspaper the other week for disclosing facts about the case that they felt shouldn`t be in the public domain.

Stephen H. You mention the word slander, but nothing I have posted is slanderous. It is a simple question. Surely an innocent person can have no greater satisfaction than saying ` I sttod before a court of law on those charges and i was found not guilty`.

Johnnyhawkins. You say it is an easy question to answer. If as you say there is no evidence to answer to, why fight your case in the press. Why not wait until the case is either dropped through lack of evidence or you are clearded by a court of law.

Excellent question...shame none of the press have thought to ask them.
Let's face it, those two have really enjoyed all the media attention despite the circumstances.

Because public opinion matters to them, apparently.
After all, if the public thinks they are guilty, they won't donate any more money.

johnnyhawkyns: Been watching Sky much?!
The mother of that girl was found guilty by what was found in court, it had nothing to do with the alleged torture, that no one has yet proved it took place.
The Police cannot arrest someone just because they are suspects, the prosecuter needs to read the report and then decide, that why they were allowed to come back.
Or in this country as soon as you're made a suspect you get taken to jail and thats it?
Of course theres is evidence, or do you think the 3000 pages report that was taken to the judge just said 'They look fishy to me'?
Try reading some less biased articles in the future.

The only voice the McCanns have at the moment is through the media. They have not yet been charged with Maddies murder or anything else. At the end of all this I think they will be found guilty of no more than leaving thier child unattended. They shouldn't have done it but nor should anyone else. They were just unlucky. Didn't another member of the party they were eating with leave his daughter in the room alone as well?

Easy question to answer.

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE otherwise they would have been in court and not allowed to leave the country.

THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK yet the police leak all sorts of lies. Most of you cannot resist shouting your mouths off even when somebody else is being blamed. Are you telling me if it was you, you would say nothing.

I could ask. If they are guilty, why are they not in court or better behind bars.

There has never in history been the same crime (two girls same age) been taken at different times from an area so close. The other mother had a confession beaten out of her by the same policeman that interviewed Kate.

Public support - the press are the best for that!

They drugged that child to have good night out - they both doctors - and it went wrong. Have you ever seen a photo of the mother crying................cant say i have!

It is my belief that they will never be charged with anything to do with their daughters disappearance.

Richard Branson (admire the man), but well to do looking after well to do more like. Likes of general public we would have hanged by now.

THeir legal advisors are going through the press to trace leaks from the Police to discredit the McCcanns. Th police are under considerable pressure to solve the case and we must be very careful because they will soon be put in a position of charging anyone and the McCanns are an easy terget. Certain people are attempting to have them charged on anything they think might stick. In point scoring we are forgetting Maddie

Personally i think the mother did it she craves the attention and she was gone for ten minutes then came back to the table then went to check again and screamed ...yea. she probably wasn't asleep and was craving her attention and she went loco and lashed out and threw her over the balcony into canal below . ?That canal went out into the sea the sea wasn't far away her body and evidence will be lost forever well that's my version of it:)
