Not sure of the mileage, but estimate driving time at about 1 1/2 hours. Take the N11 our of La Rochelle (this will be signposted Niort / Nantes. Then take exit for the N137 which will be signposted Nantes. This road is a bit tedious, but follow it through Marans, Chaille, and Moreilles. Go straight on at big roundabout (where left is to Lucon) and about 10 minutes later you will be able to join the A83 Autoroute directly to Nantes. All well signposted.
