Get there 2-3 hours before.
The earlier the better as you might get better choice of seats etc.
Once you are through to the other side you can just relax, have a drink, do some shopping rather than turning up and getting stressed by the queues to check in and get through security.

I would definately get there the 2 hours before as recommended,Ive flown out twice from Manchester this year and the queues at passport control are horrendous,everything is being checked,drinks are taken off you ,shoes off to go through security,we only had about 30 minutes to spare till take off.

It depends on the time of day and number of flights leaving at or about the same time as yours. I usually arrive between two and 3 hours before my flight is ready to leave. I usually wait in the terminal about 45 min to board the flight.

if you are flying get there early alot early around 4hours before you fly because the security is so high there you cant get near the terminnals at all you need to be droped off in a car park were there are loads of armed police its all signed posted the reason i now this is that i droped me bro off there today

Always give yourself an extra hour ie 3hrs to allow for eventualities.Just watch Airport program to see those that dont.
