The bible does contain some historical fact. It does contain references to real people. It does speak of certain places. There is some scientific fact to be found in there. However, these things do not mean that the entire bible is true. Heck, the Harry Potter series contain some historical fact and reference real people and speak of real place and have some scientific facts sprinkled around in it. That does not mean there really is a Harry Potter. The Harry Potter reference is used to show that a book that with references to reality does not make the entire book true. It does not matter if someone believes the story is true or not. If you want to say that the entire bible is true because some parts of it are true then why can someone not use the same logic for Harry Potter? You say that is an invalid comparison because no one is claiming Harry Potter is true. What if someone comes up to you tomorrow and say they believe Harry Potter is real. Then by the logic you are proposing then we have to start believing Harry Potter is real? The point is, religious people want a particular logic applied to the bible even though that logic applied to other books is completely idiotic. Why use special logic for the bible? As for truth in the bible, do you believe that mustard grows into mighty trees? Do you believe that there are 4 legged flying creatures on this planet? Do you believe that the sky is composed of a structure that holds snow and rain? Do you believe that the planet is stationary and does not move? Do you believe in unicorns? Do you believe in dragons? Do you believe in giants? All of these things are in the bible. These are not a part of science or reality but they are a part of the bible. I believe that the people who believe that the entire bible is true are either very unintelligent or they just refuse to listen to reason and logic.

Knowing what I know about cats landing on their feet, and how buttered toast falls. I propose an experiment. First we glue a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat and toss it off a cliff. If my calculations are right we will have created anti-gravity or a similar effect.

. I don't know where or how the myth started, but it's not true. The other one that is also a myth is that a cat has nine lives.

I think it's true actually. My cat fell out of the bedroom window and my neighbour said she came down like she had a parachute strapped to her back, I couldn't stop laughing at the description.

No, not true. I've tested this for ummm...scientific purposes, not for entertainment. The cat didn't land on his feet all the time.
