I have an art project where I need to visually represent an apple 40 different ways. Ideas??

Question

Anything goes, painting, 3-d, photos etc etc.

So far I've come up with stories like Snow white & seven dwarves, Apple of discord etc etc that I can do.

Also I've done paintings, drawings, etc. of different views of apple.

I wanted to get some more ideas on it (as I need 40!!!) and some of the ideas I have right now are pretty boring...

Also, I need at least 5 of the 40 to be 3-D, any ideas for this?

There is also an Idea of cutting an apple in 40 different shapes, sizes, ways. It would be interesting. like abstract art with an apple. Or like the 40 pieces of an apple explosion. position the core and the rest of the apples bursting out each unique piece connected by tooth picks or something. Sounds interesting enough to me.

A whole apple, a sliced apple, a diced apple, apple pie, a person in a suit with a green (photoshopped) apple in front of their face, and apple with a knife in it and red food coloring coming out if the incision, and apple cut ih paper thin slices so that the core is the middle of the resulting slices, an apple falling in water (using freeze photography), a series of a fresh apple to a rotting apple photographed over the course of a month.

Wow! I was thinking of the many ways you could photograph an apple and you could go on photoshop and manipulate different angles in different ways. Say you cut it into 1/4's and lay them different ways. You could line them up in a row. Line them up and tilt one. Line them up and tilt 2, etc. You could photoshop each of these and change the colors many different ways. You could stretch out and manipulate the shapes in different ways. You could have different people eating an apple. You could have an apple on top of something with an arrow stuck through it. (William Tell style). You coud have a photo of someone on an apple computer or the logo itself (that wouldn't violate copyright laws being that you would not be displaying in order to make any sort of financial gain). You could have Snow White. You could have a Christmas ornament apple. I don't know just some ideas....

Hmmm...not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but have you tried the depiction of the apple in biblical and mythological subjects? You could look that up and probably get a few results. One that springs to mind is the apple in the Garden of Eden (Adam and Eve, temptation, and so on). I'm sure it's used somewhere in poetry and prose as well in a similar context. Good luck with the project, it sounds very interesting!

Edit: My sister just came up with The Big Apple and apple of my eye also.

Use a real apple and turn it into a sculpture. You can put a face on it. You can keep painting it over and over.

Maybe you can draw the apple as it grows on a tree.
Or, maybe you can draw the apple as it gets eaten and you could do like a 3D drawing of it in a person's body. Going down the esophagus.
That's the best I could do.

Wire sculpture... make sure you use some beads for seeds.
Cubist drawing of a half eaten apple or a core.
Expressive painting where you express the mood of the apple.
An apple batik.
A cut paper apple.... maybe even a tissue paper apple like Eric Carle's book.
A carving of an apple in soap.
An apple stamp.. maybe implying teacher
An apple on a tree drawing... or sculpture.. take a paper bag and cut and twist some parts of it to make branches... then stick an apple on the tree along with lots of leaves.
A drawng of an apple on Newton's head.. or by him... or hitting him.
A drawing of Adam and Eve eating an apple.
A drawing of your representation of Johnny Appleseed.
The drawing of the morphing of a seed into an apple tree.
The drawing of a worm's point of the apple.
A painting of A is for Apple .. like an alphabet book.
A sculpture of Mac logo done using old computer parts glued together.

How about a large cross section showing the seed, inside the seed a picture of a tree with an apple on it, showing the seed in that apple with another tiny tree inside it, etc.

I think in French a potato is an earth apple. Something to check in. You could then show that in another language this is a form of apple.

Can you use photoshop? If so, use an image of an apple and distort it or recolor it. Photoshop can twist it and turn it so many different ways....but I have a feeling you already though of that.
