Hi, Im a prospective Model, I was contacted by an agencie and they told me that for 20$ per month they will find me castings. I dont really know how this business works... Are you supposed to pay agencies to find you jobs??

No reputable agency will charge a fee to represent you.

It's a scam!!! If they knew they could get you work, they would not charge you because they would get a percent of what you made when they got you a job. If you truly have Model potential, have one of the big agencies tell you. Like the answer above me states(Ford, Elite, or an Agency like that.) That way you know for a fact you are getting a true answer. They don't charge you fees. Even if you get turned down by some of the top modeling agencies, you could always ask them what their reasoning was......they will give you an honest answer if you ask them. If you want to get taken for your money instead of knowing if you really have what it takes, go with the scam.

Most likely not. You shouldn't have to pay because they should just take out a percentage pay of what you make once they find you the job and you land the gig. Nevertheless, I joined an agency for a $1,000 flat fee and over the course of 4 years I definitely made that back and a ton more on top (all my work was doing promotions). Twenty a month isn't too bad, but I have a strong feeling most likely they won't find you work, they'll send you castings which you don't fit the criteria, or something else that's not cool. But you can try it if you want.

According to Top Model, any respectable model agency will never, ever, ever ask you to pay money for anything. Move on to a good agency.
