i need to put an electrical outlet in a concrete wall. hard work? the best way? i'm not doing the electric stuff just trying to save money digging it out

Depending on what room you're talking about, it's generally not a good idea to chisel into concrete.

I'd buy an outlet box and use a masonry bit to drill some pilot holes into the concrete. Attach the box to the wall using some anchors, and you should be fine.

Or, build a wall with some studs that run the length of the concrete wall, and attach the outlet box to the studs. Finish it off with some drywall.

It will be easier to leave the the socket surface mounted but if your gonna make it flush then use a concrete chisel/bolster and a 1-2lb lump hammer. A heavy duty hammer action drill with an sds chuck to mount a chiesel point bit can be purchased cheaply or hired for a day from your local tool hire outlet.

Use a small disc cutter to cut two parallel lines about two inches apart to a depth of one and a half inches.
Then use a chisel to remove the waste in the middle

better off surface mounting it...even if you get the hole for the box you still have to get wires in and back out for your power...
