Bad Habits:

1) Not closing out programs correctly.

2) Not saving your work as you go.

3) Not keeping a good and organized work space on your hard drive.

4) Not doing backups regularly.

Good Work Habits:

1) Learn the program you intend to use. Take classes if necessary so that your questions to the Help Desk are not elementary. This also means learning the proper terms for the computer you're using. (That thing in front of you is not the "hard drive" it's a CPU and includes Floppy Drive, Hard dRive, Ram Memory, CPU Chip and a dozen other pieces of hardware.)

2) Save your work as you go. A computer problem or area blackout can keep you from asking someone where your 50 page report "went".

3) Organize your work so that reports, spreadsheets and files can be found and utilized quickly and efficiently.

4) NIghtly backups. Keep one copy of backups off site monthly as part of a security plan.

3. Shopping online
4. Using it for anything not work related

Supposedly, if you're not using the computer for what you should be, it takes up space on the company's network...or something like that. Basically, it's not efficient for the company and it hinders production amongst the employees.
