Wal-Mart is a very selfish corporation.
They make trillions of dollars, but do not pay employees what they are worth. They hire people part time so they do not receive any benefits. Wal-Mart also throws away food and other items while some people, including their employees, are starving! They do give out grants from their good works program, but this is only for their own benefit in the form of tax write-offs.
In conclusion...Wal-Mart sucks!!

Step one: Demand undercut wholesale pricing for suppliers. The result will be more cheaper foreign products, and some domestic products (at lower costs which can cause layoffs). This step will cause doemstic production to drop, leading to domestic job loss and factory closures.

Step two: Market your products to lower income and unemployed buyers. Should be plenty of those since you helped make a large number of them unemployed.

Step three: Build super centers at lowest cost possible. Should be easy as there are now a lot of closed factories in small towns all over the country.

Step four: Hire cheap labor. Again, should be easy. There are now a lot of unemployed factory workers looking for jobs and willing to work at low wages.

Step five: Begin a large scale marketing campaign to convince the nation that you are a good patriotic, fair minded company with a genuine interest in every citizen. Mom, Apple Pie and Wal Mart. This should be easy too. All you have to do is bank on peoples willingness to take advantage of their neighbors in order to get a low priced television set.

There you have it. The Wal Mart way.

My opinion? I will either learn to make my own products or do without before I will step foot in one of their stores.

It has emerged as a shop for everything store- with pharmacy, beautiques, clothing, automobiles, and toys, and etc.

It is owned by Sam Walton and the Walton Sisters.

It was first started in the 1920's.

It has its own merchandise like toilet tissue, cola, milk, etc.

McDonald's has agreed to share some store space with it.

It is being sued by former employees, from all over the world, for misconduct and unethical behaviour.

It's competition is Target and Sears.

Because of Walmart, Kmart was bought out and so was WaldenBooks.

After working for Wal Mart for years I can say they will work you to the bone. They expect you to do the work for 4-5 people while only paying the minimum that they can get away with. They know people are replaceable and I really dont think they try to keep their associates long term.

WalMart is the worlds top retailer. They have to be doing something right.
Management finds ways to sell merchandise for low prices and earn profits due to the huge volume of business. I think it is an ideal strategy.
