That truly depends on which one you're more comfortable with. Laptops are generally slower than similarly equipped desktop models. However, for a few $$$ more you can usually get a faster laptop that will alleviate that issue.

Laptops are generally harder to work on and find parts for if there's a problem.

Do you ever need to take your computer with you? Yes? Get a laptop.

Buy a docking station and plug your full size monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, network cable, and power cord into the docking station. When you're home, you forget that you're using a laptop. When you need to take your computer with you, you simply undock and its ready to travel.

Hope this helps.

Better choose a desktop so that you can save time from recharging the laptops battery, and also desktop is made for long-hour usage. you can even use it 24 hrs without switching off.

If you are constantly moving, then get a laptop. If you sit at home, get a desktop. If you're a gamer, get a desktop, but some laptops can play games just as well, except you'll have to watch for overheating and charge the battery a lot.

I would say the laptop is the better choice if you absolutely have to have the mobility or if you're in a situation with very limited space. Other than that, the desktop.

For the desktop/laptop decision the important factor is not the amount of use but WHERE you're going to be using it.

You get more for your money if you buy a desktop, but the beauty of laptop is mobility. You can take with you to work, holidays etc.
Get a desktop if you are using the computer for that long.

It makes sense to buy a laptop if you are a professional who is on the go all the time, and you need to have a computer with you most of the time.

Also, if you are a student at a university or college who needs to do a lot of Web-based research, it makes sense to buy a laptop.

If you are a person who uses a computer for pleasure, entertainment, or as a diversion, and you do not need to travel with a computer a lot, then it makes sense to buy a desktop computer.

If you have space in your work area I'd go with the desktop. Large display, larger keyboard, easier to upgrade and they are less expensive in terms of bang for the buck than laptops ... much better for someone that spends hours on the computer.

I recommend desktop for long time usage.
Laptop usually get overheated when you use it for too long especially when you place the laptop on your bed.

Depends if you're going places, playing games, or just doing home work.
If it's primarily for gaming I'd go with a desktop. Always upgradable and ever efficient.
If it's for work and/or college, then a laptop would be best.
