That is sometimes done with hypothermia victims with core temperatures down below 80F.

As an immune system stimulant this idea has been tried for at least a century. You can't go higher than about 104 or 107F to avoid brain damage.

Yes. There are several ways to do this, but they all work in basically the same way.

Whenever the body burns more fuel, then metabolic heat is generated. It's pretty much the same as turning up the heating burns more fuel, but produces more heat, and the body works in the same way.

The most mundane example of this is if you go for a run, and get hotter. However, at rest, the amount of fuel burned and accordingly your metabolic rate is determined by hormones released by the thyroid (thyroxine etc). People with a "high metabolism" release more hormone, burn more fuel, get hotter and end up thinner. Similarly, people with thyroid disfunction who are prescribed thyroxine can control their own metabolism, and therefore their body temperature by how much they take.

During illness too, the body release "pyrogens" which cause the body temperature to rise. It is believed that this is done in an attempt to make the body less hospitable to the invading bacteria, but opinion is divided on this.

Finally, slimming drugs can also be used to control body temperature by burning more fuel and creating more metabolic heat. Dinitophenols are an example of such a drug which sometimes proves lethal.

Ordinary body temperature is 37 celcius, but raising it above 44 starts to denature critical body enzymes, which then lose function and your body stops working. So you begin to die. If your body core temperature reaches 46 degrees celcius, you will certainly be dead.

Yes we can..... inflammatory response release mediators that reset the hypothalamus to a higher temperature setting, hence raising the core temperature.

Most likely, as time goes on you would become malnourished, and possibly starve. Probably it would take a long while as your body would still be able to break down the foods into something of value, but over time, and as your fat storage is used up, you will die. Just like if you ate dirt for an extended period of time.
