They have to hold on to the football, mistakes and turnovers would doom SC. They need long drives to keep LSU's high-powered offense off the field and they need to get points on those drives. The defense needs to be oppurtunistic and cause some turnovers. Anything is possible in college football, every year, seemingly unbeatable teams lose games to opponents that appear overmatched, but if I were betting, I'd bet LSU wins by at least 2 touchdowns.

Mr. c
Buckingham's behaviour does not represent most of the Gator fans.
sorry for someone like that, but as you know all teams have their share of those guys. lighten up buckingham i know you love the gators but lets not insult the other fans,
and Buckingham Mr. c happens to be a very cool person
and very knowledgeable about football and many other subjects
he is one of the best users on here.
most Gator fans are very nice people, i go to every game and for the most part we are always friendly and love to have the other fans come to gainesville and enjoy themselves.
gainesville is one of the coolest towns in the world.
and as you know we love our Gators
Mr. c south Carolina will have to play lights out defense and maybe get a few turnovers. and score some touchdowns, field goals will not beat LSU, Mitchel will have to play mistake free at QB
anytime spurrier is on the sidelines they have a chance
but it will be a tough tough task.

Force turnovers would be a good start. Hope that LSU comes in overconfident. Hope Spurrier has found at least some kind of weakness or match up he can exploit.
It is tough because LSU has some of the best athletes in the country.

They have Steve Spurrior and that is a major plus. The Old Ball Coach will have a few tricks up his sleeve and I think that the first half will be very close. In the end, our depth will be the demise for the Cocks and I see us running away with the game in the 4th quarter. It will be our toughest challenge to date. LSU 35 USC 17

LSU is beatable. No team is that dominate that they can't lose. South Carolina just have to play a flawless game and limit the turnovers and penatlies. I think it's going to be a close game just like when they went to the Swamp last year and should have won. I think the "ole ball coach" is going to have something up his sleeve as always.

No sure there's much they can do. South Carolina will have to rely on LSU self destructing in order to even keep this game close. Other than that they lose by double digits easily.

South Carolina doesn't have to do anything! They could send out their 2nd string and still win. They got this game under control! LSU is overrated and South Carolina is a much better team overall as quoted by Lee Corso..... Swami sez SC:45 LSU: 10

A few stats of interest going into the game: LSU is 23-0 under Les Miles when rushing for more than 100 yards per game. South Carolina has yielded over 100 yards in each of the three games they have played this season against ULL, Georgia and South Carolina State. They have given up 4.6 yards per carry including 5.4 yards per carry to UL-L who rushed for 252 yards. South Carolina State gained 196 yards against the Gamecocks. South Carolina's rushing defense was much better against Georgia than against UL-L and South Carolina State. LSU has averaged 5.3 yards per carry running the football against Mississippi State, Va Tech and Middle Tennessee State. To make matters worse for SC, one of their best defensive lineman will be out for the game. Most of UL-L and South Carolina State's rushing yardage came on inside runs and traps.
South Carolina's pass defense is the strong suit on defense. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 6 in the nation on pass defense.
The Gamecock's offensive line is suspect when it comes to protecting the quarterback. The OL has only given up six sacks this season, but 20 hurries. Georgia had an amazing 17 quarterback hurries including several hits. South Carolina is averaging less than 200 yards per game throwing the football including five touchdown passes and five interceptions.
The Gamecocks are winning games by running the football. South Carolina averages five yards per carry and LSU's defense is allowing an average of only one yard per carry.
On offense, LSU has been very balanced this season. The Tigers have gained 695 yards rushing and 760 yards passing. LSU has had 33 first downs rushing and 39 first downs passing, and has had nine rushing touchdowns and 10 passing touchdowns.
One other stat of interest is that South Carolina has never beaten a team ranked higher than No. 3.
I do believe LSU is going to win the game against the Gamecocks, but I think it will be much closer than most people think. Steve Spurrier is an excellent coach and he has had great success playing against LSU. I like South Carolina's chances of winning the SEC East because they beat Georgia on the road and will play Florida at South Carolina.

If they can outscore...JK SC has a good passing game. If they can spread it out and run big plays, and not turn over the ball.I think they can hang in there. just have to see if LSU is as good as everyone says they are.
