It's seriously variable, depends how long you were addicted, how much you were taking, what form, what concentration, your own body size, fat percentage etc. Physical effects can last up to a month apparently. And Charlie's withdrawal on lost is very very very mildly put, if you want a bit of reality try reading, not watching, reading trainspotting. Shudder, now that's graphic, and since I started studying physiology I also now know that it's depressingly realistic.

Not as long as tobacco.Which has been proven to be far more
addictive. But it takes 3 days or so of cold turkey before you
can start to plan a future.

going cold turkey from heroin can be life threatening actually, is why most doctors will put an addict on methadone to ween the addict off of heroin, methadone can be tapered and gotten off of much more safely than heroine. Don't believe most of what you see on TV, it's mostly hype, put in for the sake of drama.

Its not so long as it takes to sort out the emotional side of your life as the people I know that have been on it and since detoxed, have a lot of emotional problems to deal with as one tends to become very shallow, and emotionally stunted if they have used a longtime and everything appears very raw when you stop, but it is well worth it.

Pysiologically it will take 3-5 days for the body to stop the withdrawal period. Psychologically, maybe never, will need much help.

It's probly the one of the worst withdrawls. You fell hot, then cold, you can't sleep or eat without throwing up, your whole body aches, and you like, loose your mind for a couple days and then you're fine.

I am a former addict, it takes 7 to 10 days for the physical withdrawal to subside, the mental withdrawal can take much longer.
