I love my Orange savings account. I've had it for about a year. Simple transfers back and forth with my Washington Mutual account. I would be perturbed also if she wanted your SSN # just to send out info. Go to the website, www.ingdirect.com. You should be able to find all the information you need there.

I have used an orange ING direct savings account for over a year, and have found it to be very convenient. I get a higher rate of return and have easy access to my money when I need it. They need you social security number for security reasons. Honestly, have you ever opened an account w/o your soc # ? When you want to inquire about your account at a later date, they will ask for the last 4 digits of your soc and many other questions to confirm your identity. If you look on your site, you will see that they have many more security features than most other bank sites. You have nothing to be concerned about. It is a very good bank from my experience.

Yes they are a good on-line bank. I have been a customer since February 2006. You can also do transactions by 800 toll free number. Better rates than your local bank.

no fees no penalties... you can get to the money if you need too.

they offer automatic savings from a checking account.

if I had your email, I could email you a link to join. put $250 in a new account and they give you $25 for free. great deal.
