why is everyother kid on some kind of medication? I have children and work with children. I see the zombie kids that the parents have medicated into submission, they are kids they need to have fun, get wild and learn to be themselves. I know there are real needs, but are parents today trying to make thier children easier to manage with drugs for thier own lifestyle choices?

My children don't take medications on a regular basis, although sometimes I think they should. Good luck. 2D

My children only get meds when they are sick. I do not use it to sedate or make my life easier. My son was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 2. I basically laughed at his doctor when he recommended medicating him. Yes he was hard and sometimes uncontrollable but I stuck it out with him and now he is 8 years old and doing great at school and home. Unless used because a child is actually ill, I disagree with it,medication has become a crutch for parents to have it that much easier.

I'm not medicated mine but some people i know do medicate theres i know children can be hard to handle sometimes but i don't think you should medicate them they are just kids with great amounts of energy which i wish i had

I think it's that drug they use for ADD. parents are so fast to put their kids on that med just because the kids are a little more playful, and the parents don't want to be bother with the kids.

I totally agree with you. I mean, mothers that I know get antibiotics for their kids if they get the sniffles. Kids get immune to the effects of them by the time they are 6 and then they wonder why they don't get better.
