My 3 yr old son found a "Super permanent marker" in my room (I have no idea where the marker even came from). He scribbled all over my carpet with it in two places. Along with himself, the wall, the dresser and my sheets. How do I get it out of the carpet?? My lease at this apt is up real soon and I don't want to have to forfeit my deposit :( HELP!

It would help if we knew what color the carpet is now....

Well, color is important so someone does not recommend bleach and its a red carpet, etc.
Now that we know the color, any acidic product would be out.

I have had good luck with the KABOOM stuff on TV. It is available in most kma^5 stores,or Wal-ma^& stores. I have a off-white berber carpet with two large dogs. So stain fighting is something I have dealt with.

Good luck.

For real; hair spray. Spray the area until it's wet and rub it up with a dry rag. The hair spray will dry quickly so you'll have to spray it again and again and rub some more. I once had a Sharpie pen that was stepped on and broken on the tan carpet. I had heard about the hair spray thing but thought it was a joke, but with the Sharpie, I was willing to try anything. It didn't all come up, but instead of a black spot in the middle of the carpet, I ended up with a light purplish spot that didn't look as bad.

Spot Shot works really well. It comes in a can and a spray bottle.
Spray it on( after checking that it won't fade the color) scrub lightly with a scrub brush and vacuum.

Try dabbing it with some rubbing alcohol. Be sure to dab the stain, not scrub.:)
