Complexity is the very nature of existence. We are trained to "break down" and simplify things, but when we free ourselves of these tired and crass conceptualizations, what we encounter is a very intricate and complex world. The world can't help but be complicated. Without an underlying chaos, there would be no way to distinguish order.
If relationships were all straightforward and simple, how much value would they really have? There is an old saying: "Nothing worth having was ever acquired easily." Deep meaning comes from facing adversity and thriving in it. People who have it too easy are spoiled and superficial. Born with silver spoons in their mouths, how in touch are they with the world around them? Are they even really alive?
I read a quote recently, I think its is attributed to the recently deceased author, Robert Jordan. He said:
"You can never know everything and part of what you know is always wrong. Perhaps even the most important part. A portion of wisdom lies in knowing that. A portion of courage lies in going on anyway."
The true test is not to take something that is naturually complicated and try ot make it more simple and easy. Its to embrace the fact that there will always be that little part that confuses us, to accept that thing which makes it so difficult to go on sometimes. Its to embrace the difficulty and to develop the courage to keep going on anyway, and give life the very best that we can muster.

Relationships are only as complex as anyone chooses to make them. Complexity of relationships may also mean that incompatible are trying to force a relationship where there should be none.
Our socialized beliefs make it difficult to realize this.

If I take a rope and tie it into a big complicated knot the knot may be complex but the rope is not, the rope remains a simple rope. I think people are intentionally complicating things. Imagine you had to forage for food. Imagine at any moment me and my barbarians could barge into your town and murder everything. If we still lived like that we would not have time to think so much. We complicate our relationships because life is very simple and safe now.

Because in general our individual personal lives have become more mundane and devoid of emotional value, and we feel the need to get that from somewhere, so we make more complex our relationships with others.

Because humans have evolved into some rather complex organisms.

Actually, they're not. They are just made to seem so by the inclusion of a lot of physiological terms by pseudo intellectual blowhards putting on airs.
We're no different in our feelings, and thus relationships, than we ever were.

They've always been complex. The comparative openness with which we discuss them in the media make them seem as though we're suddenly seeing something new, when we aren't.

if you are referring to politically
it all started when BJ Jefferson Clinton decided to uhhhh
(well you know) in the frickin white house, and the ensuing impeachment proceedings started a political rift ( thats what established move on dot org, in other words they formed to move on from the sex scandal;)
anyways every since the left has gotten progressively more psychotic in their ramblings and anti right rage
thus the divide and conquer strategy is working to destroy this country internally , thanks willy
