I just have a few questions...
I had a cat who had fleas.I've been dealing with fleas for a month now.
I sprayed the house then came back to vaccum. I noticed a few fleas jumping around. So, me being neurotic, I ripped out all the carpets in the house(3 bedrooms).I washed almost all the clothes and blankets in the house. I sprayed again with stuff from the hardware store. I vaccumed every second day. I still saw fleas so about 2 weeks ago my cousin gave me a can of VET KEM from a vet's office. It has IGR in it and it says it has 7 months residual action against pre-adult fleas. I am still vaccuming every second day.Matresses, floors, couches, curtains, everything in the house.I wash the bedding every time I vaccum.I am still seeing fleas.
What is the amount of Borax and salt I should use. I've read to spray matresses, so I mix it with water, right?
I am frustrated! I really don't know how much more vaccuming I can do!!
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I should add that I haven't seen any more on the bedding or my pants, just the baseboards, about an inch above and on the floors.

It sounds to me like you have a real problem that only a professional can deal with. You need to make sure you are using a product that also kills the eggs so they don't keep hatching. You've put in a lot of effort and time and expense into this and I know it must be frustrating. I would call an exterminator. You need to make sure they guarantee full eradication for their fee. If the neighbours have flea invested animals then you may be carrying the insects in from outside inadvertently. The house and the yard, even your vacuum cleaner, need to be treated for best results. Good luck!

When I used borax to wipe out the fleas in my house, I just sprinkled it on straight- and heavily.

Did you get Front Line or a similar product for your kitty? If not, you should.

Since you still have an infestation, you might want to also check under your house and in your yard. The fleas have to be hiding somewhere. Also, try vacuuming every day so the little pests won't have a chance to move around.

Good luck!

fleas are hard to get rid of. Put your cat on frontline and have your house sprayed. And don't forget to empty the vacume every time you use it. You may also want to have the yard sprayed. Good luck!!

I don't know details, but i know that you must throw the bag of the vacuum cleaner away every time, otherwise they just remain in the bag and multiply. Other than that, try spraying with Frontline.
