constantly trying to get out and kicking of the back legs (not to swim) is a sign your turt needs to lay eggs also many turts will quit eating .

Provide your turtle with an area of loose sand. She will sometimes lay eggs even if there is no male around to fertilize them, they, of course, will not produce any young.

Our turtle laid eggs.

They taste great with buttered toast.

Or even better. Let them grow and you can have baby turtle soup.
