who else agrees it is our right as an American to wear whatever you want? How can they pass these local laws against sagging pants? Because it offends certain people? Well maybe i get offended when girls have there cleavage popping out of there tops, so will this be the next law? Doubt it. These ordinances make me sick.

I think some of these laws are just getting out of hand. It is a different thing every week that we aren't "allowed" to do anymore. It isn't just about the clothing issue,it is that our rights are being stripped away from us on a daily basis and there isn't anything we can do about it.
Personally,I really hate the look of the saggy pants, but that is just my opinion. I'm sure the "older" folks didn't like what we wore back in the 70's either.
I can understand making saggy pants an issue perhaps at school or in the workplace, but to make it illegal in a town is going overboard.

Unfortunatly cities and states and towns have the right to pass such laws in their own area as long as it doesnt conflict with the constitution. It is not listed as a "right" to wear whatever you want in our constitution, it is an assumed "right". If the locality sees it as unacceptable and indecent, then they have the right to pass a law that it is not allowed in their locality. I doubt it would hold up much in a state or federal court though.
There are several laws still in existance that do not make any sense anymore, in one alabama city is it illegal to wear jeans on public streets on sunday, (they dont enforce it of course), another city law says its illegal to cuss on public streets.
This can be taken back to the new laws in one city that say its illegal to smoke anywhere in the city, even in your own car.
I agree that some new laws are frivolous and rather stupid, but they are the law and must be followed or face the consequences.
Besides, what excatly do young people find flattering about pants that dont fit and show their underdrawers?

Now you kow how Evenagelical Christians feel...Getting prayer taken outta school, Ten Commandments off of courthouse lawns, separation of church and state, etc...I feel you're right though...It is wrong to tell us in a free country how to dress, but jeez you gotta draw a line somewhere for the simple fact, given these freedoms, this country has gone ridiculously crazy...Hence, though free, you still have to be governed simply to keep order around. I feel your pain so all I can offer is that if offended, just stay outta the towns with that law!

What makes me sick is the people who think it’s OK to dress like this in public. If you want to do it at home, go at it. But not in public.

Baggy pants weren't invented by rappers or skate-boarders contrary to popular belief. Prisoners invented it.

My opinion is I think women who wear very little clothing is no different that the guys who who wear their . And it’s shameful we even have to consider a law on such an issue. (AND THE WORD IS THEIR THERE-People use spell and GRAMMAR CHECK, PLEASE).

It's not a right; it's about decency. An attribute many people lack these days. If your going to pattern yourself after someone, make it someone respectful. Who are you trying to make a statement against? Your parents? Friends? Well, if your parents are decent citizens, I’m sure they must be very proud of you and your friends, well, to copy an old expression, if they jumped off the cliff, would you?

You would never see a movie star, businessman, or woman dressed like this. What are you trying to prove or say? That you can. Well, you can, just don't expose me to it. What’s worse it’s we even have to consider a law on such an issue.

As far as a job, just try going for an interview dressed like that. I’m sure your phone will be rigging off the hook with job offers, NOT.

I agree with the new laws. I am tired of seeing guys boxers, women's thongs, cleavage and everything else! As a society America has become to lax on what is and isn't acceptable. How do sloppy people who aren't capable of pulling up their own pants or covering their own breasts get decent jobs? Also I'm rather fed up with having to explain to my child why some women were underwear made of dental floss (and think we want to see it!) and why guys have to pull their pants up all the time. I prefer not to know what kind of underwear a man dates until at least the 4th date not before he even hits on me. I also notice only certain types of people do this. Men with real jobs don't walk around with their pants down around their knees. Why? A) it would cause a safety hazard on the job site or B) they are intelligent to know its inappropriate.

Did you know there is a law in almost every state that a woman can not go out in public wearing only a bra, or not wearing a top at all.. people have tried pushing that law because men can go shirtless but not woman.. obviously there are differences in men and woman... it's called decency.. and people should have the decency not to show their under clothes in public with or without a law... I personally don't want to see anyone's underwear or other parts of their body when that belt around their thighs finally gives and there goes their pants- should there be a law.. No.. but should people have decency.. yes

If they want to ban sagging pants, then they must ban all other offensive clothing. Let's see... large women who wear pencil legged capris (do they know how bad they look???), men in the fishnet shirts (oh yuck), visible body piercing (I think they are ok, but many do not). If we ALLOW the government to tell us what we can and cannot wear, eat, do, say, etc....we are no longer a democratic society. The only way to affect change is to be heard by all levels of government. Let them know we can take care of ourselves. We are wellon our way to becoming stepford wives....

One good thing about sagging, I have noticed on the Cop shows that the crooks can't run as fast with their pants around their knees.

I always thought the "fashion police" was just a joke. Guess I was wrong. Next it will be illegal to wear a baseball cap sideways.

I THINK IT IS A MATTER OF DECENCY. WHEN YOUNG TEENAGERS WEAR THEIR PANTS DOWN SO LOW YOU CAN SEE THEIR UNDERWEAR AND BEHIND,
IT COULD BE CLOSE TO INDECENT EXPOSURE.

THAT FAD STARTED IN THE JAILS AND IT KINDA STIGMATIZES YOU. BELTS WERE TAKEN AWAY FROM PRISIONERS TO PREVENT HANGINGS, ETC.

YOU HAVE A POINT THO ABOUT THE GIRLS THAT ARE "OVER THE TOP"

WHEN I WAS GROWING UP A BIKINI WAS A SHOCKER TO US. WHEN MY GRANDMOTHER WAS GROWING UP YOU DID NOT SHOW YOUR ANKLE. YOU GOT WHACKED FOR THAT AND GIVEN DIRTY LOOKS. (SHE RODE AROUND IN A COVERED WAGON BUT IN THE LAST YEARS OF HER LIFE SHE FLEW IN A JET. )
TALK ABOUT PROGRESS........
