Here's the latest. Hubby said that he will get rid of the dog if I want. He doesn't want to lose me. However, I love him just as much and circumstancially, he offered to put a long run up so the dog will be able to better exercise in the yard, take the dog for a walk when I am preparing dinner to give her more exercise and enroll her in obedience classes for as long as it takes. This is a smart albeit headstrong breed so I am anticipating once we learn what to do, we may have a better behaved animal. BTW, after the exercise she got yesterday, she slept until after 6:00 AM this morning!!! Blissful sleep for us as well!

Ultimatums can be dangerous in relationships, make sure it is really a situation that requires one. Ultimatums also can breed resentment if the other person feels they are being ordered around without consideration for their feelings. As you have pointed out pets can be trained. It sounds like you are working towards a happy compromise and who knows once your dog is trained and manageable you may find you love the dog just as much as your hubby. Dogs are good ways for couples to trial run how they will handle child rearing differences as well.

If I was offered the same ultimatum I would choose the dog over a woman, every time!

They are far more loyal than a woman.

Also, compare a woman to a dog making a racket at the door to gain entrance - the dog shuts up after you let it in!

Do this dog a favor and find a good home with someone who will do right by it. Its not the dogs fault that you are so immature that you blame an animal for its behavior when you haven't done your job. To threaten divorce just takes the cake. Please do not have children until you grow up.

If I were you I would keep the dog and get rid of the husband. Dogs are more loyal.

Sounds like he is doing everything he can to keep you happy. I hope you let him know how much his willingness to sacrifice for you means to you!

Lace some chokky drops with poison and tell your hubby that deputy dowg got a chicken bone stuck in his throat.

He will never know.

Get a nice head stone in your garden and you can give your hubby a shoulder to cry on.

You will become closer and the pesky dawg will be a distant memory
