He tells everybody, you're missing, makes heartfelt appeals through the media for you to return and for anyone who's got you to release you, and then gets someone to offer a whacking reward for your safe return.
Then he dumps you in the forest and arranges to find you wandering there ten minutes later.
It might be better to get someone you can trust to find you. But then you'd have to split the money.

The important thing to remember about philantropy is not just give money away, but also to teach the unfortunate something so they can get their own money.

So, he should not take shower for a week, and wear ripped dirty old clothes and go out and beg for $ on the street. Theeeenn, when he gets a lot (and I mean a lot), he should drive around with the money and throw it out the car window AT people begging on the street. Oh, and when he throws the money at them he should yell really loud, "Get a job, ya loser!!". Then laugh out the window when he drives away.

Remember, if you give a man a fish, he eats once, but if you teach him to fish, then he is fed forever!

Your request overlooks the point. Philanthrophy can be accomplished by anyone. If he only has a dollar or ten dollars, that is enough to begin the process.

remember Robin Hood? seriously, though, just in case you do want a serious answer (i never know, with you, Giggle Bear) my sister, brother and i collect stuff like toys, clothes, furniture, and take it to thrift stores or give it to people we know who need it. we take stuff to homeless shelters. it's a lot of fun, and we meet some really nice people.
