I agree 100%. It is shameful the way some have accused a man who has dedicated his life to his country of being a liar and a traitor. Shame on them............

I stand by him, he is doing a good job and the right thing, unfortunantly some liberals would rather just stay on partisan lines than do the right thing.
I feel bad for Petraus, because anytime someone is working with Bush or in or near his administration, the Democrats say they are doing a bad job, even if they aren't take Gonzales, he was strung up by a witch hunt that didn't hurt the President it hurt America by taking a good judge off of the stand.
I wish people wouldn't just attack people with phony witch hunts, becaus they think they are doing good, but they are only hurting the country.

I think hate is a harsh word for the left.
Myself I have not a reason to not believe the report. The General has fought in this war, not you or I.
However he does not report to me or you. He reports to the president. So I can see where the left has there doubts about the reports.
But let me ask you why are you and more people not upset at the protesting at the funerals of the men and women who served in the army. Fred Phelps is one of the worse people in the world. However I don't see the outrage on this forum as I see for the Moveon.org.
I guess it's ok because Fred Phelps is on the right, right? I don't believe that's true but the right making more of this and not condemn people that are worse!

I often like to think what would have had happened if someone like Hillary would have said the same thing she said to Petraeus to someone like General Patton or General MacArthur. For amusement of course. And then think of how fast they would pistol whip her following tar and feathering her and kick her into Mexico.
I respect Generals a great deal. It is not a easy road to becoming a General; Generals are Generals for a reason. And for some hot air shyster like Hillary Clinton who knows nothing about freedom to question a man of that higher class like that! It is disgraceful and demeaning! Maybe if people like Hillary Clinton focused more on getting gum off the sidewalks than pretending to be caring about the war and everything else she doesn't give two craps about. She should leave the General alone and allow him to conduct the war the way it should be fought! Not politically correct but in a strong, unmerciful militaristic way!
I have to say. It goes to show General Pertraeus is a great person and is not bad or evil as people like to think. Because he sat there like a gentleman and stayed humble. Even though Hillary was just using that time to try everything to make him look bad and like a failure.

I do NOT, AS MY PATRIOTIC DUTY stand by a lap dog of the corrupt Bush Administration on this illegal war.
The Bush Administration has the nasty habit of retiring military Personnel who report bad news.
Is that brave? I ask you. My conscience tells me NO!
And quit the talk radio indoctrination babble about the "America hating left". The left want the illegal war to stop and wants the troops home alive.
Criticism itself is not "salnder and hatred".

It's inappropriate and divisive to put the soldiers in the middle of the political debate. That's no different than divorcing parents putting their children in the middle of the divorce.
Our great military members take an oath to serve their country and obey the orders of the President. They must obey those orders whether or not they like them and regardless of the politics behind them.
When you support the troops you are supporting the oath they took whether or not it's Democrat Lyndon Johnson sending them to Vietnam or Republican George Bush sending them to Iraq.
Our soldiers are worthy of respect and support regardless of whether or not they win or lose. We lost Vietnam. Are you going to say those soldiers are less honorable because of it? Certainly not.
Putting them in the middle of the debate, as you have done, as George Bush has done and as Moveon.org has done is DISRESPECTFUL of them and of oath they took.
It's a shame more Americans can't understand that.

Nobody has said anything bad about the general....the issue is the occupation of Iraq. The occupation is a massive failure because a country can't be governed from the back of a 70 ton tank. The US won the 'war' in three weeks....generals get paid to do that. Good job. They don't get paid to forever govern a defeated country, particualrly a country that's at war with itself. Railing against the non-existant 'hate-america left' is for chumps.....the issue is about the failed occupation of Iraq...all the 'support' in the world isn't going to put this Humpty-Dumpty back together again,

Petreaus failed to be honest with the Congress. That is dereliction of duty. he is NOT a good American, merely a self-serving mouthpiece for Bush.
Bush tried to pressure General Pace and others into doing the same thing. Pace had the guts and integrity to refuse. He deserves support and respect. Petraeus does not.
